I was scrounging around the backalleys of RealGM when I came upon a bunch of clips of some of the bigger name HS kids-- Green, Monta Ellis, Louis Williams. The credit goes to some fella who calls himself kiz5. The thread is here (http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=357970&start=0), but I took the liberty of extracting the relevant stuff for easy consumption below.

Things to note: Green's handle still needs work. He needs a lot of space to drive to the hoop, which he seems to do infrequently. To me, he just doesn't seem a step quicker than everyone else reaction wise - which, to me, is the sign of a dominant perimeter player. His game right now is out-jumping opponents. His release is reasonably quick but he doesn't get too much lift on his jumper - that will hurt him on contested pull-up Js.

He's being drafted on his offensive potential, so that has to be scrutinized thoroughly. And there are certain glaring weaknesses that Im not positive will be fixed by coaching etc.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

Not a bad problem to have at 18 years old. When this young man grows into his frame he's gonna be pretty doggone good. The only thing I see holding him back are future injuries. Other than that the skys the limit with him.

He also has a week left hand dribble. Kid defnitely has a lot of potential. A definite late lotto pick IMHO. He could use 1 year of college where he might be in the 1-2-3 pick the following year. Nah, come out so Zeke can have more options.

I don't know about the form. He looks like he is aiming his shot.

I've seen clips of Iverson, KG, Kobe, Jason Kidd and I even got the pleasure of seening Marbury in person when he was in High School.....all those guys were more impressive than anything on this thread.

All these new guys looked very regular. I've seen kids play like that in the park.

Maybe the High School All-star games were better than what I saw out of those clips.

I see a kid at 6'8, handling the ball fairly well... (he could have been anywhere from 16-18 when this footage was taken). WIth a very impressive shooting stroke. His athleticism is under-wraps because he plays a controlled game. I don't think he's in Lebrons class.. but who is.

The way this kid shoots and the way he's built...in these clips he reminds me a little of DerMarr Johnson. Of course he has more explosive athleticism. If his shot is consistent, he looks like a real nice 2 guard.

His drive needs work overall. His left hand dribble is actually somewhat reliable considering he's right handed. But, it seems like he can only go left. And settle for the J. Also looks like he's afraid of contact.

His shot is ok in terms of mechanics. More than his form, which looks a little bit funky, its the timing of his release. It looks like a semi-set shot.

Obviously take him with our pick if available. But, the Knicks need to work him out rigorously and check out what appear to be fundamental deficiencies.

Great thread!

Decent Talent. I didn't see anything special here. GG looked okay, not particulary quick. Nice shot, his form was decent. His handle is suspect. How tall is he? I don't think we should be looking at any of these guys over the college players I have seen. No one looks like an impact player.
