What are we gonna do with this pick. I know Isiah has an eye for talent, but he got Ariza with the 43rd pick, 10 picks higher. In the 2004 draft the 53rd pick was Matt Freije. Sound familiar...didnt think so. Man if Isiah can get a good player out of this pick, I would have unlimited respect for him.

some mocks have Julius Hodge falling this far, if we could get a SG like Hodge or Ewing here, I'd be ecstatic.

But it seems like the only 50s picks that ever pan out these days are foreign players who get to incubate for a few years. The Spurs took Ginobli at 54 or so. Memhet Okur went in the 50s. It might be a good idea to take a risk on a foreign guy who falls here. Maybe Petro will slip?

It's unlikely there would even be a roster spot for the player unless he's extremely impressive like Ariza was. Isiah will probably draft a Euro player so that the Knicks can retain the rights to him while he plays in Europe and does not take up a roster spot.

Maybe someone like Travis Diener, who got injured but was having a good season, to compete at backup PG.

He's a little under-rated, he's not far of from being a Kirk Heinrich, but I think at that point in the draft he'd be a solid pick. I'm open to many players. I can think of that guy from Rice named Michael Harris who is very under-rated, not even on mocks, but he will be drafted for sure, some of those Mich St players who get limited PT like Tobert or Andersen, their all superior athletes with skills-- lets see who drops, but I think even at 53, you can actually get a player this year who could be every bit as good as anyone picked up to 15 believe it or not.
the only advantage we have with that second 1 is the possibility of a guarantee, guaranteed money to a player Isiah likes. That UTEP PG comes to mind as a guy, Pops Mensah, we have some leverage with that pick because of the guarantee

Alan Andersen is a really nice player. I'd love to get him if he slipped to 53. Diener was having a great season before he got hurt. He was getting like 20 pts, and 7 asts vs. only like 2.5 turnovers.

Marcus Slaughter is a nice player too. If he hires an agent then I will realy love to get him if eh is available in the second round.

He's had a season comparable to your favorite college swingman.

I thought he stood out more than Danny Granger when they played San Diego State in the last game of the regular season.

mmmmwahahahahahahhahahahahhahaha!!!!!!

Why not right?

If you think about it the draft is a joke. They sign these High Schoolers and Euro guys and make them sit for 3 years to learn the game and develop them.

I could become an all-star if I was given 3 years to "develop". Imagine.....everyday all you do is practice on your game, and stay in shape. How fun is that? I would be the best point guard the league had ever seen!!!!!
