from van gundy this year

as of right now

we own pick 8, 30, 53

hopefully Miami will overtake Pheonix with their tie breaker and we drop one slot. there actually could be a real good player that falls in round 2 who has a every chance to make the team. Maybe we can throw a tad of money into that 53 pick and move it to 33-35 in a swap for a team that might want an obscure foreign player and would swap picks + 150,000grand

that would leave us at best case scenario

7-29-34 that wouldnt be bad, we should hit atleast 1!

But we gave ATL a 2nd rd pick and Houston a 2nd rd pick. Is the Houston 2nd rd pick a future 2nd rd pick???

NEVER MIND the pick is for 2006.

we have two this year and two next year. we have our own pick and the Suns pick (through the Spurs) this year and our own pick and the Spurs next year.

thats because the Mo Taylor trade as orginally reported by Chad (dick) Ford had Houston's #1 coming back to us. (which it should have)

actually that 2nd rounder is PERFECT to use on that GW player you were talking about. Since you can use the MLE on 2nd rounders (like we did with Lampe) offer this kid a guarenteed 2 year deal or something if he declares and doesnt work out. Maybe a 3 years $2mm deal or something like a late 1st rounder would get.

I doubt it Fishmike. Actually I read that Pops may have some type of guarantee on the GW forum. I dont know if that is a first round or a guarantee to pay on a second rounder, but it comes from a good souce. He is a poor man's Antonio Mcdyess, not as skilled, but he is a muscular 6-9 240 and has a 41 inch vertical, the same as Hakim Warrick's. There are not many guys his size that can explosively jump like that. He has raw parts to his offensive game, but I can tell you he's going to be a top notch defender. If I had to equate, something like Udonis Haslem, a little bigger with more athletic ability.

with the amount of guys this year its hard to see a guy like him going very high in the first round. If he does better for us as it just means more good players around 28-30

Cool. Before most of the sites had it as a "future" 2nd rounder and never specified the year. Nice to know we have it this year.

That's hardly good news, it means instead of giving up a low 2nd round Rockets pick, we gave up a high 2nd round pick next year to them.

Man, this Mo Taylor trade just keeps gettin worse when you think there is nothing more to say bout it.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Ill just say this, POPS is no joke. he ripped two ligaments in his shooting hand after the Mich St game which limited him all year. this guy is an explosive, explosive athlete w/ superior nBA athletiscm at 6-9 240. If anyone has seen him play, you know what i mean. he is raw on the O, but before he was hurt early, he looked liked amare stoudemire at times during the first 5 games. dont be surprised if you here his name in round 1.
