How about Kenny Thomas and Skinner torching their old team last night. Skinner: 13 points (6-11), 19 rebounds, 3 blocks, 5 assists
Thomas: 20 Points, 15 rbs, 4 assists, 3 steals

Webber : 8-26 from the floor. GM of Kings definitely looking good right now. Got 3 solid contributors for one old overpriced bad knee player with a big ego. Thank God he didn't get traded to the Knicks. I do think that Philly does have a small window here to do well with the team they now have. Dalembert had 16pts, 16 rbs, and 5 blocks last night and Iguodala is going to be special. THis kid is already a first team defender in my opinion. And he has a very nice offensive game and incredible athlete and finisher. I don't know how long Webber will hold up for but he adds a certain dimension(passing ability and presence) that can help elevate the entire team. The Knicks really stink and would not have benefitted from a player like Webber.

Okay

now take bad games from Skinner and Thomas and put them up against career games from Webber

thats great man.

I'm happy the Knicks didn't make the Webber deal but let's be honest here we all know those scrubs don't hold a candle to Chris Webber.

Obviously Webber is more talented than all 3 combined but that was 2 years ago. Right now, Kenny Thomas might almost be as good as Webber and is also a better defender. Webber is still a great passer and has a better feel for the game and more experience but those things are a little over rated in my opinion. I think the trade helps Philly for right now. But in one year I would like to see what happens. Webber has a huge contract and a bad knee. But I think next year they could be really good as the young core develops around Webber and AI. But lets be honest Webber is not the force he used to be and never will be that again. That doesn't mean he can't be a very solid overpriced player.

I like that young kid Iguodiala, he will be something special. Ariza could be just as good, but physically, the Philly is more ready.

Whenever you can dump an over-the-hill vet for a solid player like Thomas, you do it. Good trade for the Kings. An even better one was getting Mobley for Christie.

Webber was not over the hill when he was playing in Sacramento this year. He won the NBA Player of the Month Award either once or twice (I can't remember) and was putting up 21/11/6 on a very good team.

He only put up those numbers because he was on such a talented team and in a system that fit his game perfectly.

If he was on the Knicks he wouldn't come close to those numbers and would shoot so poorly from the field which he does anyway. He takes a lot of shots. He is a good passer. No denying that. But those passes were a lot more effective playing with brad miller, bibby, peja.....

Sac got the better of the deal. They have moveable pieces if need be. Philly has a 60million dollar disaster if his knee does not hold up.

He is not a good fit with Iverson. He was fed the ball with Sac, in philly he gotta go get it.

Sac in two years had a much better record without him than with him. It was a no brainer for them. Peja likely would have bolted also.

Add it up, it works well for both teams, but in PHilly you got variables of AI, a coach not liked, and Cwebb trying to find the rythem with AI, whom I think has only practiced once with!

CWebb on the knicks would not have figured in our long term plans.
