Both Kurt and Houston have been in a Knicks uniform since the end of the Ewing/Riley/Van Gundy era, those two have symbolized nothing but bad luck. The solution for a better future will be to get rid of the two. How can we do that? well, Houston will be in the last year of his contract after next season, we have a couple of options with his big contract: we can either allow it to expire, or trade it to a team that is desperate for cap space and allow them to buy it out. I would even consider paying next season for a team to assume that contract, just so we can use the space to acquire new and complete talents.
As for Kurt, he is the easiest to move out of all our players, he has had a great season and should be able to find another home elsewhere...We can afford to let him go, because we already have plenty of replacement for him...We can use whatever we can get for him and draft a prospect center, preferably a 7'.
With those two off our books, we can really concentrate on what we need. Crawf is not ready to be a starter in this league, we can draft a consistant scorer and defender to play the SG position, and waist the rest of our picks on project Centers....
That in my opinion should be the way for Isiah to go......
