sign and trade Kurt and Penny to Philly for Dalembert, Mashburn, and McKie. Kurt can start at C, Jackson can back up Kurt and Webber. Penny's expiring contract gets rid of the contracts of Mashburn and McKie.

that won't get it done. mashburn is done next season and taking mckie's $$$'s isn't enough to get rid of dalembert.

but this might work:

kurt + sweets + 2005 #2 + our 2006 #1

for dalembert

Yeah, thats the kind of deal that Philly is going to want in return for Dalemebert. I dont think they have any reason to want to trade him, they certainly are not going to trade him though because Jackson is there, Dalemebert has alot more potential then Jax. Philly is going to have to be swept off their feet to trade Sam.

I have seen Dalembert play only 2 times. I am not impressed with that cat. Adding 2 picks is a NO-NO for me. I would do a Kurt and Sweetney for him though.

KT/Sweetney for Dalembert/McKie/Barnes(filler) works. contract wise. Sixers get 2 productive PF's and we take another bad contract(sigh!). They might go for that.

New York trades: C Kurt Thomas (11.8 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.6 minutes)
PF Mike Sweetney (8.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 18.8 minutes)
New York receives: SF Aaron McKie (2.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.5 apg in 15.0 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (7.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 24.2 minutes)
SF Matt Barnes (3.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.3 apg in 16.6 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -6.6 ppg, -2.9 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

Philadelphia trades: SF Aaron McKie (2.1 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.5 apg in 15.0 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (7.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.5 apg in 24.2 minutes)
SF Matt Barnes (3.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 1.3 apg in 16.6 minutes)
Philadelphia receives: C Kurt Thomas (11.8 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 36.6 minutes)
PF Mike Sweetney (8.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 18.8 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +6.6 ppg, +2.9 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

dalembert is pretty much EXACTLY what we need. he flies up and down the court. he sometimes watches the ball instead of boxing out (that can be taught) but he boards and most importantly block shots. shaq had him posted up under the basket. he went up for a hook and my man jumped straight up and swatted it. we need that. think camby but 10 years younger and 10 times healthier.

take away the 2005 pick and I do this. I would be happy to include the higher 2006 #1 also. Then you draft Petro and sign Steven Hunter as I mentioned in another thread and you have 3 7-footers. One prospect in Petro that has those bigman Euro-skills and a pair of athletic shot blockers in Hunter and Dalembert. If Hunter is n/a then Dalembert and Petro are a good mix at center to have. Its probably shooting a little high and Phili will be loath to trade in their division but who knows.

Too Much for Dalembert, IMO...If we had to give up all that, I would rather just draft Johan Petro and move KT and Sweets and a #1 pick in a seperate deal. I think Sammy is good, but I see him as another Marcus Camby type, finesse defender and blocker, he has even less of an offensive game. And right now, even as Camby is a better player, IMO, I wouldn't trade KT, Sweets a #1 and a #2 for just him alone. The problem I have is KT almost netted us Drew Gooden 9in a straight swap..if not for his contract,we would have Gooden...I am looking at it along the lines of If KT can net us that by himself, why package him for a player as raw as Dalembert.

If we traded KT for Gooden, I would trade Sweets and our second first round pick and maybe a #2 for for Dalembert.

What about KT, Penny and the 2006 #1 for dalembert?

That works and they get an expiring deal.

Unless you plan on signing Dalembert for about $20 M a year, the numbers don't work. If we're trading expiring contracts for a player, expect a lousy one in return.

amazing how Petro's stock has risen here after one dunk lol

I was almost killed when I uggested drafting a foreign Center like Petro a couple months ago here before the dunk clip lol

he better really impress in rookie camp and the rest of his time in France
