1998 - last time bulls won a title. they blew up the team and have been mismanaging the roster ever since...until this season. now they're headed to the playoffs 6 years later with a core of young players.

1999 - the last time the knicks went to the finals. 2000 - out in the 2nd round. 2001 - out in the 1st round. and now 3 of 4 season missing the playoffs (one blip of a 4 game sweep vs. nj) with a core of big $$$ players.

which process would you tolerate?
which team has a brighter future?
which team would you rather be?

The Bulls still are unclear what they will do from here on out. Why they are winning now? They have Hinrich who turned out to be better than anyone expected, Gordon has been saving them in the fourth and they just have more athletic bodies to throw out there.....oh yeah and they are healthy.

The Knicks in the Layden era don't count. During the 2 lottery years under Layden the team was run like it was still a playoff team.

Isiah must be given credit. Timmy' sister died and he had some deathly sick family members. He's finally broke out of it and is playing the way he should. The other injuries also killed the Knicks in January. If Timmy was himself the Knicks would be in the playoff hunt.

When it comes down to it.....it's who do you trust? Isiah.....or Paxson? I gotta go with Isiah. He's shown me he will move heaven and earth to try and make this team better. Paxson has no plan....he's winning this year by accident.

bulls have some tough choices coming up. who do they pay? who gets traded? can they keep drafting well or will we see more underachievers? time will tell if this season is a taste of things to come or a blip.

i agree that this season isn't as bad as it looked at some points. houston never made it back, TT was lousy, and there was that one crummy month. we need to address the issues that this season has exposed, but i do believe we're making progress, and we could have a nice infusion of young talent soon.

out of habit, i'll say i'd rather be the knicks.

Its like whats worse... losing love or never having any?

The Knicks have just sucked for 5-6 years and have been unwatchable. There isnt a single guy from the past 5 years I wish was still on the roster. The Bulls have watched Brad Miller, Crawford, Jay Williams, Elton Brand, Jalen Rose, Ron Artest, etc come and go for whatever reason. They have HAD great talent and pissed it away.

i'd be alot more pissed if i were a Bulls fan for letting all that great talent get away to tell you the truth...if Isiah were ever to allow talent like that leave MSG, islesfan & BRIGGS would be having a field day.

6 years of missing the playoffs because you were trying to rebuild through the draft just to finally have a 34-31 team is a nightmare. I like the Bulls team now, but it's not worth 6 miserable years just to finally have the product they have. If the Knicks miss the playoffs the next 6 years unders Isiah (if he were actually retained during those 6 years), he would be an utter failure even if in year 7 the team had the Bulls' current roster and record.

The Bulls should have been in the playoffs long ago with all the talent they had. It wasn't rebuilding through the draft that hurt them, b/c that's how they are in good shape now. It was rebuilding through the draft and pissing away all those talented players like Brand and Artest. Crawford I can understand, but they were very short sighted when they traded those guys. Should have given them more time.

Jay Williams was also not their fault. If Jay Williams didn't crash, and they kept Brand and Artest, they would be pretty sick.

Krause was too ambitious. He put too much into Chandler and Curry.

And the Jay Will thing sucked.

I'd take the baby bulls than the miss run Knicks.

Paxton has done a fine job in reorganizing Krause's mess and has a real young team poised for many good things. The knicks are a mess.

THe bulls are a few years ahead of us. Despite their bad trades, they maintained some value and kept attracting high draft picks.

I also think Mullins has done a great job in GS just this year alone. That Baron Davis trade could be great, or just really expensive!

Ebbs and flows of good and bad fortune!

Nalod I am confused, you said Mullin has done a great job this year alone? Great?

signing and overpaying bench players in fisher and foyle to huge bucks long term was not that smart.

giving J, rich, and murphy huge deals with similar players on the bench like pietrus waiting? not very smart to me..

I guess time will tell huh?
