Knicks need Marcus Williams to come out and a number of other players such as Chris Paul, the more players that come out with eligibility left the better chance we have of getting the players we need.....

Back up point guard: Jarret Jack, he will be a late pick and would provide us with a solid back up

Shooting Guard: If he is availble Francisco Garcia

Athletic Big Men: Hackim Warrick, Christ Taft, David Lee(has one strike against him already)

with the way this draft is shaping up, i would LOVE for zeke to buy his way into another pick this year. i would trade $$$ and next year's spurs pick to get another #1 in the 18-24 range.

that's not a bad idea. I hope zeke looks into that. I'd love to get a Petro, Frye or Jarret JAck in the mid first round.

I like marvin williams from UNC, and I also like villanueva from uconn, I think williams is going to be a stud and we would be lucky to get this kid..

I love Charlie too. Where do you think this kid will end up if he comes out? I think he won't be around past #10. If the Knicks miss the playoffs and the Knicks get the 7-10 range I want Charlie.

Marvin Williams is too good of a player....he is scoring at will in the playoffs in limited minutes, what is that about?
He also came out reciently saying he was coming back to UNC. He would definately go right after Bogut if not before if he came out now.

Luck isn't even the word if the Knicks could get Marvin Williams.

when i see villanueva, i see ALOT of tim thomas in him. he has alot of talent but i have a feeling that after every game, you'll be asking why he only got those #'s when he should be getting alot more.

Team needs are clearly a starting C and a backup pg, but they should take the best player available at each pick. Taking the best player makes it easier to make trades and fill needs. I love the idea of taking next year's Spurs pick and cash to get another first rounder in this year's draft. If NYK doesn't draft a back up PG they can use the MLE on a few options - 1. Jeff McCinnis 2. Damon Stoudamire 3. Tyronn Lue 4. Ronald Murray (SG who can play some PG and RFA - so he's the least likely

not wanting to make ANOTHER draft thread I'll just say this here:

Julius Hodges looks like a guy Zeke would like. He's a tough 6'7" SG with playmaking abilities. Tough defender, good slasher. Might not be a bad pickup to fill SG/combo slot with his size. He'll be there at the 28th pick in all likely hood.

I think it's a really good idea to try to buy a mid-range pick (early 20s) to get a guy like Eric Williams from Wake. He's huge. Briggs is dead-on: this kid is a beast at 6'9" 275-285. He's got hops too. Good shot blocker.

charlie seems to dissapear at times offensively but one thing that holds true is that he will rebound, and I mean tough ones and he will block shots, so the Tim thomas comparisons are not fair to me..

I like marvin williams a lot, I mean I would take him with the number 2 pick if we had it, the kid can rebound and score at will, he will be a stud in the nBA..

Charlie Villanueva is a CARBON COPY of Tim Thomas. Maybe he has slightly fewer head problems, but only slightly fewer. I'd avoid that cat like the plague. He may be staying in school with Uconn's disappointing finish.

enyspree: it is tough to tell where charlie V. will go, I do think that teams will pass over him because there are other sexier picks out there, and that is fine with me, and it just continues the stupidity of GM's out there now. charlie is 6'11, block shots and rebounds, that there is enough for me to take him top 10, now he is developing an outside shot too..wow, the knicks need this type of player, he can change a game, he can block a shot, grab a board and go score at the other end, the only other guy that can do that for us now is ariza, but he is 6'8, not quite big enough to do that on a consistent basis, I think charlie will be one of the better players in the draft, people forget he is just a sophmore, for that matter I like josh boone also, guys who are long, tall, and athletic are my type of players, imagine if boone and charlie really develop a offensive game to go with their shotblocking and rebounding skills.. wow..

with that being said, i can see charlie going between 7-14

I LOVE Josh Boone. He's not coming out though. I'd suffer through a 20 win season next year just to get that kid. I think he has the chance to be a mix between Big Ben and Tim Duncan, with less fundamentals on offense.

Charlie is Tim Thomas 2, mark my words. Of course, that probably means Zeke will like him.

I think Julius Hodge is definately a Isiah type of player. His defense is suspect though. I dunno if it's the college zone or what but Julius legs look wobbly on defense. Still I like him alot. He's a heady player. He's a confident guy. That big win the other day is something that will make his availability at the Spurs pick questionable.

Lose baby, lose... we need more ping pong balls for a shot at Bogut. He would make us an instant contender.<p> Other guys I like are.. of course

Marvin Williams. He is two years away from being a major contributor, but an athlete with a work ethic is a great combination.

Fran Vasquez.. Kirilenko reloaded?

Daniel Ewing Athletic good handle. Smart player. Competitor.

Lawrence Roberts Under-rated, but stock will steadily rise after camps. Offense/Defense.. with attitude.

Will Conroy- Good Defender, Good Passer.. controlled game. Good backup possibility. Rookie Free Agent.

I have seen every game Charlie has played. I have seen every home game live and up close. I would be terrified to take that guy as a high lottery pick. He is just too damn inconsistent. The scary thing is that it's not his stats that are inconsistent, it's his effort. I personally think he needs at least another year of Calhoun beating that out of him. If he left now, the money and the pro life style may be the death of him. I'd take him in the 20's, but before that I'd probably look elsewhere.
I just hope that people will like me

Either A:

Draft Warrick at 9 and Jarret Jack/Daniel Ewing/Julius Hodges at 28 and someone biggish at 50. Then sign Stephen Hunter to most of the MLE 4 yrs $15 million.

Or B:

Draft Taft/Petro/Eric Williams at 7, Simien/Williams/May at 28 and best available guard at 50 (Ewing?). Offer Flip Murray the full MLE, assume Seattle will be too busy with Ray ray and Vlad Rad.

I agree with all of you on the Charlie front. The guy already has problems playing both ends of the game in college and he doesnt even show up on the offensive end every game. Another year under Calhouns tutelage would help him significantly.

I'm a Josh Boone fan too but everytime I saw UConn go up against a big team or even a Big East team Boone never showed up, yeah I know his stats for the year are great but I didn't see it against the higher quality teams.

Marvin Williams to me will be a good player in the NBA but the only thing is, I think theres alot of players in the NBA who are just like him, tall and athletic. He might have some trouble adjusting becuase in college he can use his athleticism to his advantage against ALOT of unathletic competition that UNC plays. I'm not saying he won't be good, I'm just saying he might not be as good as you think he will and just for that reason.

Hakim Warrick I like but like Marvin Williams he thrives on athleticism and in the NBA he won't be able to get all his points on dunks like he does now in college. I watched him go against Taylor Coppenwrath and Coppenwrath having the weight and muscle advantage did a damn good job of keeping him in check, he's going to see alot of that in the NBA unless he bulks up and develops some semblence of a jumpshot.

I'm leaving Bogut out of this since there is no way he will be a Knick next year. Therefor that leaves Pitt's Chris Taft. I think I like Taft as much as I like Boone maybe a little more since he's more polished on the offensive end. With Boone you will get the outstanding defensive shotblocking prescence and you get some of that with Taft too but he has a offensive game to go with it. Taft is also kind of like Boone in the manner that he didn't show up every game this year but the fact that he can play with his back to the basket, knock down the 18 footer makes him a very attractive pick for the Knicks. If the Knicks have the 10th pick and Taft DOES come out and is still available then the Knicks should take him no doubt.

I think if IT can find a way to aquire another pick in the 13-15 range then he should do it becuase there are ALOT of quality big men coming out of collge and Europe right now and if IT was able to get 2 of them especially Boone AND Taft then I would consider this draft a HUGE success for the Knicks. I know the second draft pick isn't that likely, but I don't think its totally out of the question.
