I was toying with Real GM today....

Kevin Mchale......aside from KG what does he have? Spree and Erving Johnson will be gone for good after this season. Sam will be available for teams that could use his veteran help because I think it's clear he won't be around next year. Wally has been put on the bench cuz eh plays better with the second unit? Huh?

He has a gang of untradeable misfits around KG. It's so true....it's not coaching....it's the team he has put together. With no draft picks in years because of a shady business move he tried to do for Joe Smith of all people.....what options does he have?

Trade KG.....

It's crazy but I'm not even sure if they want to wait and see what all-star they can get back.....they need players just to fill the team up.

The Knicks have 2 first rounders...they have a decent group of power fwds to choose from and they have Crawford and Ariza. Not to mention Timmy and Penny's contracts....

Why not trade KG to the Knicks?
Timmy, KT, and Craw plus draft picks for KG, Sam and Hoiberg?
Don't like that? There are a bunch of different deals I can put down because the salaries are so similiar.

I don't mean to mess with anybodies head but why not? The extra depth plus draft picks would allow McHale to rebuild the same year he is already cutting major salaries in Spree and Johnson.

KG is NEVER getting traded.

He is the franchise. McHale will get fired on the spot if he even tries to pull that.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

that is the correct response

not even in my wildest dreams did I ever consider KG to new york next year as a possiblity. That would be almost too good a dream.

McHale should have been fired after the Jo Smith fiasco.

If you look at the way I set it up....the Knicks have a legit shot at KG.

The T'wolves would have:
KT
Timmy
Kandi
Troy Hudson
Craw

plus Eddie Griff, Hassell, and Wally still on the roster.....that is not too shabby....oh yeah the draft picks!!! Isiah could give Mchale 2 now, 1 now or 1 later, whatever.....

That would allow Mchale to still stay compeditive and cut mayjor payroll with Spree and EJ.....it's too good to be true for Mchale. He would seriously look at this and almost crap his pants.

Best believe his club is gonna suck next year the West is too good. The T-wolves might not make the playoffs as it is. Why not make this deal?

we have about as much chance to get KG as we do Kobe Bryant.

even though stranger things may have happened, this would top them all. you dont think minny could extract more talent from elsewhere? If you are offering KG in a deal, they expect a player like kobe, tmac, or a player of that caliber in return. Once again, they would laugh at this Knick offer, and question whether or not layden was still in charge.

If the Wolves did a total rebuild like that, they wouldn't have any use for KT. A more realistic proposal would be TT, JC, Sweetney, Ariza, and both first rounders from this year for KG and filler.

The Knicks have no chance at Kobe.

KG at MSG could happen. I'm just a regular dude at home because he tore his knee up. I'm just looking at this trade realistically. The numbers match...the players match....it helps both franchises. Nothing outrageous.

All I'm asking is why not? It's cool to say that will never happen but isn't it crazy to think about if it did? I spead it out man.....it's crazy how it benifits both sides.

well, maybe if we offered them Marbury, Sweetney & all 3 1st rounders this year, maaaaaaaaaaaybe they'd consider it...but it would have to be a situation where KG was demanding a trade & he gave them a limited list of teams where he'd like to go to, like Shaq did for instance...no way you're going to get KG for any package involving only KT, TT or Crawfish.

However you wanan slice it.....it's possible.

The only thing is Ariza is gonan have to stay.....Minnesota would have Timmy, and Wally already plus the picks. They would need players who could fill roles rather than a logjam of a certain position.

it would take Bogut, marbury, Sweetney, ariza and future #1 picks to get KG and they still would never consider trading KG unless KG demanded it!

Maaaaaaybe, lol

You know it's possible TMS....

Minnesota has proved they can't function with KG taking up so much cap. That's why they can't get out of the second round.

NY on the other hand would still have good front court depth at the 4....then Ariza would still be around and noticably better in his second year. Isiah could then sign someone to the mid-level exemption, and still have chips to trade Penny for another vet.....like Rose and Marshall for instance.

Just to see it written down:
Mo Taylor(depending on who is traded)
Ariza
KG at center?(does it really matter?)
Marbs (or Craw depending)
Rose?

The Knicks can afford KG. Plus the Knicks after trading away alot of players would still have a decent cast to put around him.

hey, if KG ever demanded to be traded & he listed NY as 1 of the few teams he'd be willing to go to, i'd be all for giving Minny whatever the hell they wanted to get him here...i'm just saying the chances of KG going that route are very slim...he's never proven to be the type of player to demand out of a situation where he feels he can do better on another team like other star players have...he signed an extension w/Minny because i have to believe he feels an affinity for that city & franchise that took the chance to draft him out of HS & make him their franchise star...i just don't see it ever happening.

Besides demanding a trade, KG could severly blow out his knee- then, I could see him traded here & spending two years re-habbing before he retired.

I'd trade Marbury, Sweetney, and Ariza and our four 1st rd picks over the next two years, and our expiring contracts in exchange for KG and bad contracts. That's basically the best offer we could come up with. if KG were demanding a trade, McHale would probably consider that. But if KG were willing to stay in Minnesota, then I don't think McHale would even consider the offer (unless KG gets a bad injury obviously).
