I've seen Copp play 4 or 5 times this year and he looked awesome. Can shoot inside and outside and plays his butt off. He definitely shows skills and dominates. But of course it was all against awful competition. I'm curious to see how he does against an elite player(although cuse will be playing zone). Copp looked good against Kansas, I think he put up 23 and 7 and a few assists. But looked bad against Carolina. I'm real curious.

Another guy I love that noone seems to talk about is Ryan Gomes. Just thought I'd point that out.
I just hope that people will like me

They were talking about Coppernath in sporting news magazine and called him the closest thing to Bird since Bird. With his ability to play inside-out.

Is this guy even as good as KVH was in college?
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I'm a vermonter and live close to him so i can tell you a little about him. To some him up, he's got Bird's smarts but is a complete different type of player. He's a good post player, mostly beating players with his smarts more then anything. He's got a good shot when hes open thats tough to block. Hes a good defender due to his size and toughness. Hes can't score off the dribble and hes not quick. Hes a guy that can help a team in the NBA as a role player if hes lucky, but he might struggle against guys his size that are a lot quicker and more athletic.

Coppenwrath puts up great stats but lets just be aware of the teams he does it against. I think he can be a good player in the pros and he WILL be drafted but don't expect him in the first round.

what do you guys think of Gomes? I think someone is going to pick him somewhere in the 20's and be pretty happy. Not sure how his skills will translate at the next level but I think he's going to be one of those guys that's always contributing to a winning team.

Agree fully. I'm going to make a comparison here and alot of college basketball fans might not like it but oh well haha. Gomes reminds me ALOT of Caron Butler in college and he would have gotten that recognition had Providence not had a TERRIBLE year. Whoever picks up Gomes is going to get a lottery talent player in the 20s and he WILL have a impact for whoever he's playing for next year.

I've watched a good amount of Providence bball in the past 2 years and I really like Gomes. He is the type of college basketball player you want on your team. He has improved his outside shot a great deal over time and he can do a lot of things well. With that said however, I still see him as a tweener and don't think he can develop into a very good player in the NBA. Maybe he can turn into a pretty good role player on a championship team, but he just doesn't look like he can be very successful at the 3 and he is not big enough to be a 4. I still wouldn't mind taking a risk on him with one of our late round picks though.
