The knicks are contending now...it's an old sports adage...when you always lose close games...add a one piece to that puzzle and you are a contender...reverse those close losses and we lead the atlantic.

I'm 100% confident we will have a shot blocking center within the next 2 years...and we will either have houston or another veteran shooting guard.

Add that to our young core of Ariza, Sweets and Craw and we contend for a title in 2 - 3 years.

a lot of jibber and no answer. the question, there are some people who feel we will be a contender in 2+ years. my question is what is the line up and if you add a person in there that we dont have, tell me how you get them!

I'm a TT fan (yep, I said it) so I like a line up of:

Marbs
Ray Allen
TT
Sweets
Stromile Swift or samuel dalambart or some other freak of nature.

Bench:
Ariza, Crawford, MoT/Kurt/Rose (whoever is still here)

I'm not as good a proposing crazy trade proposals...but a shot blocking center one year and a pure shooting guard (dime a dozen) don't seem that hard to acquire within the next 2 - 3 years...

before marbs, a true PG was impossible to acquire (well, in NYC anyway)

Whether this team is able to be some kind of contender is going to depend on what kind of talent gets added to the roster-

Lets say we get lucky & get a top three pick- then you've got to hope that a player like a Bogut is attainable and turns into something.

The team has some talent- Marbs, Craw & Ariza I think will be here for the next two years. Sweets might be- those are four solid, young players.

The line up is going to depend on what we can draft/trade for and we will need to get lucky.

If you had asked a cavalier fan before they won the lebron lottery what their line up would be in two years, they would have had no idea and they would have laughed at the prospect of even being in contention for anything but last place.

That's what I'm saying...we know what pieces we need...it's Zeke's job to go out and get them.

Remember, Ariza was a second round pick.

Also, is anybody else ecstatic the zeke didn't go for webber?

in all honesty, if the choices were malik/mo or webber, it might not have been a bad idea to go after webber.

penny and nazr/kurt could've easily returned webber who is a better fit for us than he is in philly.

we wouldn't have the 2 late #1's but maybe we still could've gotten into the draft by purchasing a pick or moving whoever was left (kurt or nazr).

Taylor's 10mil is tradedable. Webber's 20mil on the Injured List with Allan Houston isn't!

Let me look into my crystal ball... no one can tell you exactly what our lineup will be all we can do is know what we have and know what we need. Like others have said we are a shot blocking center and a shooting guard who can hit a jumper away from contending. Who will fill those roles and how will we get them only time will tell.
