they are actually hindering his development. 2nd game in a row, ZERO 4th quarter action. i mean, is it a coincidence that when he's in the game, we build leads. he leaves the game...and we lose the lead. is there some sort of correlation there?

I think Herb is having the same problem as Lenny- he's struggling to find a rotation that works & gets everyone involved.

Someones point out before that KT, Sweets, Rose, Mo Taylor & JYD are all have similar talent levels, albeit with slightly different skills.

I've got to imagine IT has told Herb that they need to find out about Mo Taylor and Rose- I think they know what Sweets can do.

This might work two ways- either they are going try to trade Rose, Taylor, JYD & KT with picks in a S&T or other move, or they're going to include Sweets & Picks in a sign & trade or other combo.

I think Isiah has decided that Sweetney is not going to be a star PF and is willing to trade him in a package. If we can get a more athletic player with better conditioning, I won't mind.

I mean, are they convinced that Sweets is not the PF of the future?

i have to go with bonn on this one. unfortunately, i don't think sweetney is part of their future plans and will be used in a trade this summer. we finally get a good draft pick, who plays well, and makes next to nothing, and we're going to ship him out. when are we going to learn from our past mistakes?

Looks like its time for Sweets to go. Is this really happening? It would be a relief to know that:

a) we drafted a prospect
b) gave him time to prove himself
c) but he didnt and we moved on.

Is this what really happened? Did he get chances to prove himself? Like I said, I was never a sweetney guy but I had some hope that he would flourish. Now, there is no hope IMO for Sweets.

Just read Marv's post so I am editing this one. How many think that Sweets is still going to be THE PF or even a Knick PF? I dont know what to think about this one.

You can't say Sweetney never got a chance when he's getting 20 mpg. It's not like the Jermaine O'Neal situation where Jermaine would get DNPs playing behind Rasheed. Sweetney's shown that he can be a nice role player, but I don't expect more.

i don't think they're giving up on him or shipping him out. I think isiah got us totally logjammed with all these PF's - and expensive ones too. It's ridiculous to have Mo, Rose, JYD, Sweets all on the roster together. Herb's either under orders to play the 2 new guys or he's just understandably confused about what the hell he's supposed to do.

I totally agree. Sweetney has been our best big man but what can about it when he's not allowed to play 2nd & 4th quarters because overpaid vets like taylor need to play. I can't explain it! When Sweetney isn't in foul trouble we play great. When Sweetney/JYD are not on the floor we lose. Its quite simple. Sweetney played great defense on Shaq all game but wasn't allowed to play in the 4th quarter because thats "Taylor Time???" Maybe Franco is right. They already know what they got in Sweetney and now are trying to figure out if Taylor and Rose are worth keeping or trading along with expiring contracts. I don't think so, I still think its because they are so stuck in their rotations and they think Taylor is an allstar. If TT & Sweetney were featured in the 4th quarter instead of Marbury and Crawford dribbling on the perimeter and bricking 3's we might actually hold on to the lead that Sweetney and TT helped build.
