and for that matter the pacers without jermaine?

I mean, we can still take this, it's all about the sixers and pacers. Webber is still putting up no numbers and they still can be beat (we have the tie breaker I think).

They are 4 games up...pacers still have to fight through injuries...let's wait until after we play the heat again on saturday.

come on...2 more games of faith?

this team is currently 10 games under .500 w/4 other teams ahead of them in the race for the #8 seed & the way it looks now, it will take a .500 record to make the playoffs...i don't like our chances 1 bit

I don't know...it feels like the camby knicks when ewing went down.

Just feels like we can beat the heat in the first round. The sixers look horrible. They beat the lakers, but that was kobe on the back end of back to back, and webber was a non factor...them and the pacers are the only teams that can keep us out.

I'm shocked that the celtics are running away with the division, but with the pats and sox, I shouldn't be suprised that boston would kill new yorks dreams...again...

i mean if they make the playoffs anything can happen theoretically...but they have to make the #8 seed first...& after that you're looking at a matchup w/Shaq & the Heat in the 1st round of the playoffs...ouch.

yeah...it's a shame...the celtics are really to blame...they are taking the coveted 3 spot.

I was hoping to sneak in that spot and beat orlando in the first round...but now there is no way for the 3 seed and the heat are "rolling" through the league.

Hitting the sack..thanks for the thoughts.

peace

come on guys. let's be realistic. we all hope for things to happen but do you seriously think THIS team can put together a substantial run to make up 4-5 games, with only 7 more at home?

this season is done and was done in january.

can we at least get something out of this season other than trying to incorporate mo into the rotation?

the sixers, nets, and raptors all have alot more options than us to improve.

the sixers have a core of iverson, ai2, webber, dalembert - that's better than us

the nets have a core of kidd, carter, rj - that's better than us

the raptors have a core of bosh - he probably will be better than anyone we have

all those teams have draft picks. i think all have cap room or reasonable contracts to make moves. the nets have trade exemptions. so all of them WILL improve next season.

we can improve also but nothing we do will catapult us over those teams in a major way.

boston is running away from the pack big time. their average age, i think, is 25 and that's WITH payton and toine. they have 5 solid starters and 5 solid bench players.

we are in trouble and only shrewd and flawless moves can get us out of this. we have not shown a commitment to sweets or ariza so our young'n's will also come into question.

I don't think our future is that bad.

In 2 years we will be under the cap.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I have always been a silent optimist that we just need a couple of studs to take us over the hump, but your assessment was spot on. We need a lot of work to get back on top

I thought we were better, but that bad month we had in jan, killed us.
The knicks will not do bad to get a good lottery pick, we are just a few good players away from making some noise, we just lack enough talent, TT is playing well, offensively but we need more two way players, craw played well last night despite that bad shot late, but that is what the knicks are now, a team that has players that don't seem to play within themselves at times, that comes with time and maturity as a team. I just hope we have a big offseason, because I think this season is over..
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

You always seem to say what I'm thinking.

That January was too much for real. If the Knicks played the way they are now back then....the Knicks would be in 3rd place according to division.

The Knicks are so close.....it's all about Isiah. He set himself up with alot of tradable chips. Teams like the Lakers, Clevland, Utah, Houston, Dallas, Minnesota, etc....these teams really could use the big bodies.....Isiah knows this summer will be the defining moment in his stay here.

It's exciting!!!

yeah...hopefully we can beat up on atlanta friday.

Man oh man...what a season.

BTW...

Indiana is 5 games up in 7th (Oneal is done for the season)
Orlando is 4.5 games up in 8th (and continuing their free fall)
Philly is 4 games up (and iverson just broke his finger)

I'm talking about this year making the playoffs...while last night has devastated me, no worst than Oneal and Iverson being injured.

There is still hope.

Unless Utah and Golden state (playing better) goes on a tear, we have a better chance of making the playoffs then a top 3 pick in the draft.

Use your mojo energies wisely fans.

I don't think charlotte, atlanta or new orleans will win 20 games this year and we have 26 wins.

ps. Toronto is a half game ahead.

Kidd and Carter, Iverson and Webber, and Bosh and Rose are all better than any two-man combo we have. It's gonna take at least this offseason to surpass those teams. We were WAY behind them (except Toronto) when Isiah first got here two half seasons ago

Kidd/Carter & Iverson/Webber got some creaky bones- I'd personally take Marbs/Craw over them on a long term building a winner basis.

Philadelphia is pretty capped out like us- Webber/AI probaly account for the cap by themselves.

Boston is playing good ball & have a good future ahead with youth- will be interesting to see what happens with Walker.

Its a lot of games to make up- its doable.

I'd almost like to see them get to the playoffs to shut up the likes of Chad Ford, but doing so hurts our chances at landing real talent in the draft.

It's doable only in the broadest of senses. Keep believing if it makes you happy - but it would take a miracle.

I was just talking about this season, not the long-term.

As for making the playoffs, that happened last year. If it happens again this year, Chad Ford will repeat his "stuck in mediocrity" articles. Repetition is his expertise.
