We'll see in the semifinals how developed Wilcox is when he goes up against Gooden. Should be interesting to see. Also, anyone think we should snag Hollis Price if he's available in the 2nd round. (I don't even know if he'll declare, he's on NBADraft.net's 2003 mock draft but after a good tourny he might.) He's real quick, good passer, excellent shooter and pretty much carried Oklahoma against Mizzou. He'd be a good pick in the 2nd round, because I don't think there is a point guard good enough for the lottery, other then J-Will who will be gone.

Gooden had 18 points and 20 rebounds

Wilcox had 13 points and 4 rebounds

Mmmmmmhhhh I wonder which one I would take...

I've never been a Wilcox fan and there is no way he should ever be compared to an Antonio McDyess (like NBADraft.net suggests)...

Yeah, Gooden is more developed, but Wilcox is more of a power forward then Gooden (body wise). Right now Gooden is better.

Wilcox is supposedly going back for another year if they don't win it all this year.

Despite the number differences, I was equally impressed by both players. Wilcox played most of the game in foul trouble, but when he was out there, he showed a soft touch in the paint (nice baby hook), was going to the glass (Maryland wasn't rebounding as a whole too well in that game), and is a hell of a leaper. Gooden... well, the guy's just an animal. 18 points and 20 boards in an NCAA tourney game is damn impressive.

Slightly off topic...but where is Lonnie Baxter in these mock drafts (specifically nbadraft.net)? Has he said he won't be coming out this year, or is his stock so low that he doesn't appear? It's obvious he is more polished offensively than Wilcox.

I prefer Drew Gooden over Chris Wilcox. Wilcox has a chance to be as good someday, but is a bigger gamble because he hasn't developed while Gooden will be an instant impact. Thats why he's the type of player we need.

I've just got one thing to say "free throws". Both of these players are very similar while Gooden definately has the most polish, but with these guys getting and ones and fouls down low the fact that Gooden shoots about 75% and Wilcox 55% thats a difference of about 3-4 points a game.

And with limited time, that could be a big difference. I doubt Gooden will be available if our pick is anything after 6 though. It might come down to Wilcox or Stoudemire. Layden should have them play one-on-one, like MJ did with Kwame Brown vs. Tyson Chandler last year. Brown bitched Chandler and wound up being number one. See who wants it more and have the two play, they could air it on MSG, it'd be sweet. Who has more potential, Wilcox or Stoudemire?

I'm hoping we can get the 5th pick because that will give us a good shot at Gooden, considering Williams, Ming, Woods, and probably Wagner will be there. Chicago will likely take Williams, Memphis will take Ming, Denver will take Woods or Wagner because they already have 2 good power forwards. I see them taking Woods first. Also, Golden State will likely take Wagner because they need a good point guard or player who can play both guard positions besides Hughes. With that 5th pick, it leaves us and Gooden.

I'd say Stoudemire has more potential but he's a gamble too though...

Knickix: I though Ming was only gonna go to a big market where there is a signiicant chinese population. According to Burns it'd have to be either the Knicks, Bulls or the Warriors...

I read if the Bulls get number one they'd draft Ming and trade him to Dallas for Michal Finley. Dallas could start four centers and Nash and Chicago could have Finley go home and start Crawford, Finley, Rose, Chandler, and Curry. Or they could keep Ming and have an average height of 6 ft. 11 (Crawford - 6 7, Rose - 6 8, Chandler 7 1, Curry 6 11, Ming 7 5) Either way, Chicago and Dallas could both meet China's demands. And Dallas has another Chinaman in ZhiZhi so it'd work out well.

I would like that to happen. It'd be great.

Yao Ming might as well go to Dallas. Wang ZhiZhi is there along with a lot of players from other countries. I would like him to come to new york though. Maybe for Camby and a second round pick or something. Ming will be good, but is still no guarentee.
