I wrote this on another site and got some positive feedback so here goes:

(1) Sign & Trade for Eddy Curry(10-12 million dollar contract, for 4 years which is the max years under the collective bargaining agreement)

for

Michael Sweetney, Mo Taylor, and low # 1 pick

(2) Ron Artest and Jonathan Bender

for

Tim Thomas (expiring contract and playing very well), Trevor Ariza,
and the rights to our # 1 lotto pick

Possible 2005-2006 NY Knicks

Pg: Marbury, sign back-up pg
Sg: Crawford, Houston
Sf: Artest, Penny, JYD
Pf: KT, Bender, Rose
C: Curry, Butler

I love this line-up because Curry would be complimented very well by KT because of KT's jumpshooting. Bigger version of KT & Sweetney.

Curry is not known as a defensive player, but he would have two very good defensive players on the frontline with him.

I also love the Cony Island/Queensbridge connection with Marbury and Artest.

If this became a reality, we could very well be in the finals next season.

Not too sure about the Curry trade; he didn't really impress me, and Sweetney dominated him when they played. I kinda like the other one though

Personally, I'm not a fan of either trade.
I desperately want Curry to stay off this team if he's going to make around 10M a year. He hasn't showed me anything to convince me he deserves it. I would rather take Sweetney over Eddie (stated that when Eddie was in his slump and the trade rumors were buzzing, and still stand by it).
As for the other one, I love Artest as a player, but his mental problems scare the hell out of me, especially when you give up Ariza and a lotto pick (assuming we miss the playoffs). I wouldn't be mad if Zeke made a move like that, but I would prefer him not to.

definitely love the other one if its at all possible which I doubt especially with the Bird-Zeke feud. I like it because it gives us the perimeter defender we desperately need

Ha, if we could do that it would be a dream!

We may get Curry, but that deal for Artest I doubt they'd accept.
I thought the sloagan was All Ball, not All Lottery.

I love both trades and would be thrilled if either one occured. A lot of people don't realize how awesome Artest is. He, not Jermaine O'Neal, is the MVP of that Pacer team. He locks down his man to a ridiculous FG% and puts up 20+ PPG. Look at how mediocre Indiana is without him.
However, I don't think you're giving up enough in either trade for the other team to even listen, let alone do the trade.

I like #1, I think it is plenty realistic and I would do it. Kurt and Kwame would be sick on O. Defense would need some work.

I am liking TT now, and I really think Ariza can be special, so I don't know about that, and our #1? Ron Artest is the real deal but he is such a question mark that I just feel like we are mortgaging our future on him.

I said several months ago that I wouldn't comment on this anymore but with all the time that's passsed i'll make an exception.

Larry Bird will not Trade Ron Artest to Isiah Thomas. Ain't gonna happen...Period.

Next, do not trade Sweetney for Curry. If Curry is unable to force Chicago (hold'em hostage) into taking less in a S$T (and he can) then i'd pass on him until he becomes unrestricted next year (ala Kwame). We've got enough picks in this years and next years drafts to address our shortage at the 5.

Trade Ariza, you've got to be smoking....uhhhh, errrr, kidding. Yeah, kidding
