Drive and dump, Drive and dump. I think Sweetney scored his first 6-8pts that way. Then he got comfortable and even banked one on a weird angle. Steph could make his job and Sweetneys job real easy by breaking down the D then dumping the ball to Sweetney. Same for Crawford who made some nice extra passes into the post vs GS.

They should drive and dump more than they give him one on one post ups. Sweetney would even have success vs quality PFs if we got him the ball that way. Taylor would be solid in the same senario as well.

why was he taken out & not put back in is what i want to know...is he that out of shape or does Herb have that little faith in him? it shouldn't be the latter since he's starting games afterall...i wonder what that was all about...he was having a MONSTER 1st quarter.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

nyny i couldn't agree with you more. one thing i think this team should take advantage of more is that marbs, craw and reezy can all drive and dish. they were making nazr look good early in the season when they doing that. i think they should set sweets up like mad that way. then if we couild get a 7-foot offensive rebounder and finsher, man we'd have a potent unit.

Its easy to get Sweetney going for the same reason it was easy to get Nazr going and its easy to get Kurt going... Stephon Marbury.

Steph runs the pick and roll (in Kurt's case) and the drive and dish (Nazr and Sweets) better than almost anyone in the NBA.

I like when bitter idiots like Mitch Lawrence say Steph doesn't make anyone better.

he doesn't often enough though. he deserves more credit for his successes but he's also been legitimately nailed for his faults.

Steph is easily cappable. But he doesn't do it or look to do it enough. I will agree with the haters argument that Steph looks for his own shots after he drives when he could make the pass. Adding in locker room leader like Rose has really helped us in the chemistry department.

those plays made possible by TERRIBLE perimeter defense. I'm pretty sure Othella Harrington or Spoon could have been 9-9 considering the looks he got. He does hang around the rim so thats a bonus. Better an open dunk than an open 15 footer which is what you get from KT, but GS's defense was such a joke I'm suprised Marbury didnt have 20 assists.

Not to knock Sweetney who I like but I'm pretty sure his value is getting pumped because he's part of a package this offseason. We have 5 PFs and he's the most tradeable. You guys do the math. I just hope we could get a guy like Josh Smith for Sweetney. Heck I would inlcude the SA pick in a heartbeat. Smith may just be another Darius Miles but he fills a need. I love MS, always have but he's now redundant. If we could get him averaging 15/8 shooting 55% over these last 20 games or so that would be a nice piece moving forward.

It's so elemental, go to the hole. How many times do you hear Clyde begging the Craw to drive. But it's also true that Steph chooses his spots, and for the rest of the game is content to stay outside, and Craw only does it 1 or 2 times a game. Don't think Steph is afraid of contact (maybe Craw is), just think he doesn't like picking up the extra TO's that innevitably come with the extra aggressiveness.

I really like pick and roll w/ KT, and Steph looking first to turn the corner (2nd to dish to KT if he's doubled). Or, if the team's doubling the P&R, isolate Steph at the top of the circle.

man, it would be SO unfortunate that mo taylor and malik rose are the reasons we move sweets. unreal. what a waste, if you ask me.

this guy is dropping crazy #'s in limited time. everytime isiah talks about his young core, it's the same 4 names (marbury, crawford, ariza, sweets). it better be an F'N AWESOME player if we're moving sweets.

how do you start a year with 5 PFs on your roster? I cant see Mo getting bought out, else why trade for him. Same with Rose. That leaves JYD and how sad is that.

it's just AWFUL roster management by isiah - and all in one day. i'm getting F'N layden flashbacks. maybe he plays malik as the backup 3, mo as the backup 4, and jyd as a 12th man for insurance. i'm just looking for explanations that aren't there. amazing...simple amazing.

We have 10 roster spots taken for next year and that doesnt include:
Ariza
Butler
our #1
Pho #1
Rockets #2
A player signed to the MLE

So pick 2-3 from that group and tell me who sits on IR all year.
