The knicks should draft Gerald Green.

Nba draft has him on the 8 spot but the Knicks could take him at the 7 spot. He's just out of high school and they think he's going to be the next TMAC. They should draft him based him on potential than any other PF/C/G combination.

Another question is what can the 30 mil in expiring contracts obtain? What big men? nothing

Have you ever seen him play or are you basing this off of the NBADraft writeup? If you have seen him play please add some insight.

Weaknesses: Effort seems suspect at times, can often be seen walking or resting on the court... Kind of has that I'll do what I want domineer when on the court, and sometimes appears to put style over substance... Also, he'll be spectacular one game, but then he'll forget to dominate...where is he? Needs to put up the monster performances that brought him where he is on a more consistent basis...

hmm, sounds alot like Tim Thomas to me.

he is compared to Mcgrady. That is good enough for me. Exactly what we need hopefully he can become a solid defender with his size. I would tske him over a stiff center or another skinny 6'1'' shooting guardsmwho'll get torched by the Kobes of the league.

Qyntel Woods was compared to TMac too...don't get too caught up in these draft reports until you've actually seen the kid play.

yeah he is too skinny like Woods but the question is can he light it up?

I would really like a strong 6'6'' poor man's Kobe Bryant type. Someone who can be our best player on offense and defense. Are there any guys like that? I'm not interested in small shooting guards who will get light up by bigger SGs. We need to replace the perimeter defense perimeter defense of Sprewell in the worst way.

I think that should be our #1 priority unless we get the number 1 pick and take Bogut.

Unless they compare a HS kid to Lebron, any other comaparison means the kid might turn out to be worthless and playing in the NBDL.

All the draft sites are off by alot.....they will dramatically change as the NCAA tourney gets started.
Dwayne Wade was a low to mid pick on the charts untill he stormed through the tourney. Everyone was suprised when Riley too Wade so high.

I think the Knicks can forget about Bogut, or Taft unless Isiah gets lucky. I think Bogut can start right now in the NBA. Taft might suprise like Chris Bosh.

What's good with guys like Channing Frye a 6'11" 248lbs at center. Julius Hodge, David Lee, or Ryan Gomes? All these guys are seniors. All can play but see to be forgotten talents. Where do they fit in? They all are 1st round talent to me.

They are saying on Rivals that this kid has an outside chance at the number 1 pick, that multiple teams love him, that he is by far and away the best HS basketball player. I can't make a comment on someone I really have no idea about, other than seeing a video clip which amounts to nothing in my book. He wants to go to school apparently, but so did Shaun Livingston. the scouts on Rivals are big time, so it's virtually 98% chance that he has tremendous goods. Other number 1 rivals players include Dwight howard Amare stoudemire Kevin Garnett, so they are pretty good at what they do. Its easy to read that hes a mcgrady clone, but apparently he does have many similar attributes. Tracy went 9th. Louis Williams is ranked 2 right now.

It is possible you could see as many as 10 HS kids this year, with some likely backing down. One of them includes 7-0 300 pound C Andrew Bynum, who will be headed to Uconn.

Where do you think Dee Brown will fall. He could really give us a nice edge off the bench with his speed and defense and play some serious minutes at the point.....Perhaps with our late pick....

I'll be honest, he's not one of my favorites, he's talented, but he really is a 5-10 SG more than a PG. Deron Williams plays PG for Illinois and hes almost a lock for top 15 this year. Brown has been able to play through the crevices and get a lot of open looks. Don't get me wrong, he should make an NBA squad as a little energizer, but the last thing the Knicks need is an undersized anything.
Even at combo guard, you want someone who is atleast 6-2.
In next years draft, I really hope we get Marcus Williams from Uconn as our next PG in waiting. Hes big 6-3 205, he can shoot, but he plays a style where he is past first and can play both up tempo and halfcourt and he's a magnificent 1-1 defender. We need some massive changes, hats all I can say.

at combo guard I'd want someone who is at least 6-3/6-4 with a body like Wade's.

If we're going to take a guard I'd much rather get a big SG who is 6-6+ and can be psychical with the Kobe and Mcgrady's of the league

Anyone see the UNC-Duke game? Marvin Williams is clutch. The kid has impressed me every time I have seen him play. We have almost no shot at him even if he enters the draft, but I would be very happy if we could get this kid somehow (I can dream ).

As for Gerald Green, haven't seen him play so I can't give any insight on him. As TMS brought up though, I don't like what I read about his effort being suspect at times. Yet, as BRIGGS stated, Rivals is pretty good at what they do so if they have him at number one you have to at least believe that this kid can turn into something special.
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)
