He's a SICK athlete. At 6'9 220 he can really sky. He played some PG in HS. He would be the perfect player to put at the 2/3 with our guards. He's got game changing size.. he's even had 10 blocks in a game. He's raw and 19 but I see more in him than I see in Marvin Williams.

This is a guy I would be willing to move Sweetney for also. They have a couple swing players drafted all ready and lets face it half our roster is PFs. If we can bulk up Sweetney's numbers I would offer something like one of these deals:

Sweetney + cash + Pho pick this year (possibly Spurs #1 next year also)

or

JYD + this years lottery pick (top 3 excluded) and cash

Maybe Butler develops, maybe we draft a guy like Frye late and he plays a Jason Collins type role. Maybe we sign Steven Hunter or lure away Gadzurich away in a sign and trade including one of the #1s back.

That gives us a super long athletic 3 that can block shots and is highly skilled with some more height up front to go with the bulk we already have their.

I think this makes a lot of sense for Atl who will have issues just filling out their roster. No FAs want to go there and this will give them multiple picks plus a short term commitment to a veteran.

Do you honestly think any team would trade him for what NY has to offer, let alone a desperate franchise high on the latest slam dunk champ? T Outlaw is the undiscovered version.

he's not exactly Scottie Pippen and he was drafted late in the first round. He's raw, a total prospect on a 10 win team. Keep it in perspective. I'm not asking for Kirelinko

i think josh smith is in atlanta's long range plans. and taking on jyd's contract is not an option for them, especially being $27 mil under the cap. they can have a MAJOR offseason but they'll have to overpay.

5 years / $50 mil to dalembert
5 years / $45 mil to swift
5 years / $40 mil to watson

draft joey graham and you're looking at this roster:

watson
graham
childress/smith
harrington/swift
dalembert

that could potential be the best defensive frontcourt in the league - over 12 blocks a night.

but getting back to josh smith - no he's not ak47, but i think he's a part of what atlanta is trying to do.

that team sucks... they cant score and Watson is nice but he's not a playmaker. They do that and they will be capped out with a 35 win team.
