and they will get back Jefferson next year--they will be monsters. Simien is the most under-rated talent in the draft. I said it all year and nothing has changed my mind. While all of these mocks tout these hit or miss foreign players as lottery picks, a smart man like rod thorn will be drooling to get his hands on Simien in position 9-10-11.

I dont care if he is 6-7/6-9, this guy is 250 + pound muscular power skill player in the post. When you see a 250 pound man with rippling muscles and long arms hit 37 free throws in a row and elevate over 6-10 guys for rebounds, i think a smart man like thorn will see that, especially since they dont have a PF. If hes on the Nets, he will be averaging a double -double in year 1 with Kidd at PG.

I think whoever will play PF for the nets next year will average a double double if he has any kind of talent.

They are loaded at 1-2-3, you could argue they have the best 1-2-3 combo in the game right now.

There bigs would get so many open looks its not even funny.

They def made up for the Martin trade by gettin Carter and it also worked nice for them that they are havin a bad yar and will have a high enough pick to get a servicable PF.

It seems that only for the Kncks, no matter what they do, it works out for the worse, every other team seems to stumble its way to greatness lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I agree that the Net's 1-2-3 is really nice when Dick Jefferson comes back.

Kidd is aging though. I don't think they'll be a true contender in the next few years. Sooner or later Carter is gonna pull his disappearing act with them as well.

It'll be interesting to see how the Nets respond when Kidd inevitably deteriorates.

If the Nets get Simien that would give them quite a nice little front line with Simien and Krystic. I agree with you Briggs, these 4 year senior guys get so overlooked in the draft now it's ridiculous and Simien is falling victim to it. I think they officially list him at 6'8 but the guy is a bull downlow and I see him developing faster then Sweetney did for us, not becuase he has more talent, but he knows how to his size better already then Sweetney does.

A couple other Seniors to look for in the draft off the top of my head.
Ryan Gomes, Channing Frye, Hakim Warrick, Ronny Turiaf and Salim Stoudamire. There are a few others but I think these guys will be the ones that shine earliest.

Ryan Gomes is a great fit for us and would be worth using $$$ to move up for with the 2nd pick. I have him in the late teens early 20s range so we would need to move up about 10 spots. Maybe both those late #1s for the #20 pick say. Take Diaz and Gomes.
If you can do that you have Butler, Diaz, Gomes, Sweetney and Ariza and thats pretty damn good considering the history of this organization.

The only thing that has hurt Simien draft status is his past injuries

Ronny turiaf is a good player also, he is 6'9 245 but the guy can flat out get off the floor, finish with strong dunks, and is active around the hoop, I like him also....

he's also a good active player who plays with a lot of energy. He's going in the first round, I had him pegged for one of Boston's mid arnge picks, but now with walker, I don't know. there are plenty of teams who will be happy to take him after the lottery. He's not the rebounder that Simien is. Simien is explosive to the ball. Simien will come into the league and will easily be in the top 10 as a rebounder.
