instead of some bum like Steven Hunter we need to sign Piertus for the full MLE and draft the best Center available with our first pick which will be a good one. Isiah said they still need a center. Man I really hope he knows about Piertus. He puts up great numbers behind Jrich and is an incredible defender and athlete! He's exactly the kind of player we need at 6'6''at the 2 in order to make up for Steph defense. Crawford will be an incredible 6th man off the bench. Man the thought of Piertus and Ariza on the floor together has me really excited! Check out this lineup once the Vets are gone:

C- #1 pick
PF-Sweetney
SF-Ariza
SG-Piertus
PG-Marbury
6th man: Crawford

WOW!!!!!!!
the athletism is unreal!

Guns, what if the good centers are gone? Aren't we better off taking the best player available than a lousy C who's available (or does the name FWeiss not still send cold shivers down your damn spine!?!?!?!)

Where did you see Pietrus is a free agent? It looks to me that gs has a team option after 2006. nice try though
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Oh definitely! I'm only saying if there's a big name center who still there for us to draft with the 9-13th pick who the Knicks worked out and liked. Obviously Bogut will be gone but that doesn't mean that he's the only good center in the draft.

There's still this Andriuskevicius guy who is projected to go 2nd in some drafts. I know his name is gonna be tough to pronounce but I don't remember Weis being #2 on anyones mock draft. The Knicks selected him out of no where. We were all shocked!

Then there's Tiago Splitter & Fran Vasquez who are both top 10 picks.
I think its worth it over taking a gamble on a pg/sg/sf unless he's a clear cut star like jordan lol Then you're stuck with a bust and still no Center.

Worst case scenario we'll have a talented big-bodied project that we can develope. Unless Jackie Butler becomes that guy And at leaat we'll know what Piertus can bring instead of drafting an unproven guard and then signing the unimpressiv Steven Hunter.

And you get Piertus for the MLE which is nothing! Assuming some team doesn't offer him more but I don't think it'll take more than the MLE.

I think a top center + Piertus is better than Steven Hunter + an unproven player.

and there's always a chance we have something Denver needs and we can trade for Nene who they don't desperately need.

No!!!!!!!!!!!

dammit! maybe we can still trade for him

Anyway we need a center and a big SG from this draft. A SG who is athletic and can defend some so that Crawford gets backup minutes at PG & SG. I don't care which comes first! I think its really important that we have a strong SG so that we never have to see Crawford Guarding Kobe again.

We can always find a PG to play 10mins a game for cheap. Drafting a small PG will not help our defense at all but drafting a big SG will.

sure you can trade for him and I would take Foyal's contract back. TT + the Spur's #1 for Foyal and Pietrus

Don't we already have enough marginally talented, overpaid 6'9" guys on the roster?

I wouldn't take Foyal and give up a pick for Pietrus, I don't see him to be that much of an upgrade over what we have now to justify that deal.

Pietrus and Ariza are very similar. They both crazy athletic, and both can't shoot. In my opinion, if we are going to draft a guard, he has to be the prototypical 6'6"/6'7". We don't need someone that will need to develop into a scorer or defender, he has to be ready....Guards are the easiest to get in the draft, Centers are the hardest...If we have our chance at drafting a Center, by all means please do it, because that is our main priority....
