This guy is SO far from being ready its not even funny. I wouldnt touch him at this point. He's fast and quick but he plays like a HS version of everything you DONT like about Crawford. First of all he's tiny. They say he's 6'2, looks more like 5'11 or 6'0 at best. He's a rail. He launches jumper after jumper. He's nothing like Telfair. He gets by guys but doesnt look to draw contact or really attack the rim.

He has ZERO PG skills. He's not a tweener at all. He's a SG and a SG only. I was very dissapointed. If you live in NJ and have Comcast's hig def digital package they have a pair of high def channels that just have random programming including 1-2 premium HS games a week. I caught Greg Oden a couple weeks ago.

NBA Comparison: Allen Iverson

One of the most explosive offensive weapons in High School right now…A high flyer who can rise like few his size, and finish with a flare around the bucket…Has solid form and rotation on his J…More of a set shooter from deep, as he doesn't use much leg lift on his jumper…Developing a mid range game to compliment his deep J and explosive drives would make him an even stronger offensive threat…strong handle, with an explosive crossover…very quick with the ball, and can get by his HS competition with little difficulty…solid passer in the lane, but at 6'2, the NBA will make him fail as a PG before it allows him to play SG, and is no NBA PG…to be a SG, must get stronger, and maybe grow several inches, to play the NBA Point, he must vastly improve his court vision, passing, and ability to make his teammates better and run an offense…has solid footwork on the offensive end and does well at getting his feet set before he puts up a shot…very aggressive on the offensive end of the floor, and moves very fluidly and with a purpose when off the ball…Uses screens and gets himself open for shots well…decent defender man on because he's quick with quick hands…needs to step up his defensive focus and intensity as he'll have lapses that opponents can take advantage of…can steal the dribble, but doesn't jump passing lanes well, and not a strong team defender…has solid defensive footwork on the perimeter, but his mental lapses are consistent right now…decent rebounder for his size due to his great leaping, but wonder how well he can do on the next level there…is an excellent player in the transition game both offensively and defensively, on the offensive break, his ability to hit from deep and finish at the rim are ideal…his shot selection is sometimes poor, but he is conscious of such lapses and will settle in…the vocal leader of his South Gwinnett and AAU team, while backcourt mate Mike Mercer is the director of the action on the floor.
Short and sweet: A real player, with definite NBA game. As a HS JR, he's not there yet, but he has the requisite skills and with continued work will get there, and be a solid player. His biggest question mark may be what position? He's a natural scorer, so can he develop into a scoring point, like Stephon Marbury, or does he have to play an Allen Iverson scoring role alongside a bigger point? Also, will he improve his defense and other lacking areas to compliment the things he does best and make him an elite player as he gets older? Committed to play for the University of Georgia, expect him to explode onto the SEC right away on a very thin Bulldog roster as a scorer in 2005-6 season.

Williams is by far the best scorer in his class. He can play on the perimeter and burn defenders with his NBA range. Or he'll blow by his defender with his amazing first step, which is his best attribute. There aren’t many that can defend it. His athletic ability allows him to play above the rim with ease. Loves to go baseline and attack the basket.

Williams can play the point and his court vision is pretty solid. But really excels playing as a pure scorer. He does a good job of penetrating to the basket and finds the open player on the block.

Defensively he could improve. But most players in high school could. Williams has shown he can play with quicker players but sometimes seems so content just scoring points. Has extremely long arms and blocks a lot of shots as well as quick hands for steals.

Despite being so young, he's very mature and handles the pressures of being a "superstar" so young. He doesn’t shy away from top competition and wants the ball in his hands when it matters. Williams has untapped potential and should be considered one of the best players in the 2005.

i don't know what game you caught him in, but just like Telfair last year against MT Vernon, guards can have bad games at almost any level. He certainly isnt a lottery pick, I sure never said he was, but he WILL be drafted 22-30 and he DOES have tremendous explosion in his game, and a great deal lof potential going forward as a combo guard. Just look at the USA trials for under 18, he blew all of those players away--he was the best player and he is ranked either 1 or 2 by EVERY scouting service in his class. when you own pick 27-28-29-30 2nd round--those are the types of players that become of high interest. Not so much for what they can do for you now, but what they CAN provide for the franchise down the road.

Clearly, to me, the best combo guard in the nation is Diaz--you are going to see other HS players who have a lot of talent as combo guards who may rank ahead of williams, like monta ellis, but they will not be available at 28-29-30. You want the best talent at the stage, the best player available. I think when you see these guys all together at the Jordan Classic and Mcds game, you will see some stocks rise and fall. And I have a strong feeling that Louis Williams will rise up quite well because he is awesome in the open floor game.

it was an overtime game (last night actually). He missed FTs to put the game away. I didnt like his body. Telfair was much stronger... not like a Marbury but had a good build. This guy is just too small. I look at some of those late #1s like Ebi and Outlaw and those guys are 6'8 and 6'7, not 5'11 and 155 lbs. He's NOT Iverson in his speed and this was against HS competition. He finished with over 35 points but settled for SO many jumpers even when it wasnt falling.

I dont think he's nearly as good as Wagner was (NJ guy.. saw him)

here is his performances against the best players of his age group in the USA basketball youth trials 16-17. He is pictured on the right. he's about 6-2 160 with very long arms and around a 43 inch vertical leap. these players are the best of the best in their age group and Louis ended up as the best player. that doent mena he is the best player, but it does mean he is one helluva player.

maybe.. I mentioned him because I had heard suh good things about him, exactly the stuff you just mentioned. You figure he's a solid project if he were to slip late, the knid of guy you can pick up and live with for a couple of years because of the potential.

I just came away after watching him shocked by how small and skinny he looked.

So you must be an Iversen fan. Iversen is about 5-11 160 pounds.

I do love Iverson, but he's one of a kind. There arent even any poor man's Iversons in the league. There's other small guys but nobody affects the game with speed the way Iverson does. I look at Louis Williams I see an explosive athlete, but the only similarity in game I see is their builds. Maybe I caught him on an off night. What makes Iverson so amazing to me is how slippery he is around the basket. he gets so many layups in traffic. Williams seemed content to just create some space and jack a jumper
