I dont think he should be fired, yes what he did was wrong and he should suffer consequences but he shouldnt be fired. Suspended for the rest of the season then let this thing blow over and start fresh next year

Good question. I think he should be suspended through all tournament games. Wasn't this added on after Temple was only going to initally suspend him for the last 3 regular season ones? Then I think some time should be taken over the off-season to put a panel together to investigate further, meet with him, other appropriate officials. Let there be a process, get input from a number of sides, hopefully come up with an outcome that all parties involved can endorse. Personally I don't look at it as whether or not he should get fired, but rather can eveybody involved get together and reach an intelligent decision together on this.

I agree i think that is perfectly fair. And next year he can be on parole sort of. If he's not on his best behavior then he should be fired.

Chaney in the last two years I thought lost it and threatend to either kill or kick some other coaches ass. If this was true, and on top of this event, I think he needs to step down. These are actions of someone overly burnt out. Its not like we talking Dean Smith here, he has a lot of good years behind him, and its not how he should go out, but the dude is cooked and his actions are pushing him out, not the media!
If not, then he should announce next year as his last and be done with it.
He should be punished, but more important things like this can't be tolerated going forward. If he is becomnig more of a lose cannon, then Temple cannot afford to keep him much longer.

There's absolutely no excuse for that kind of behavior. It's absolutely delorable.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I like Chaney. I like his politics. I like his view of himself as an educator and leader of young people. I think he's helped a whole lot of kids through his career.
All that said, what he did was about as bad as you get in sports, and it wasn't an isolated incident. Imo he's being let off easy in the press because everyone respects what he's done in his career. Dude's got serious anger issues. Ask Calipari (wasn't he the guy Chaney threatened to kill?).
Chaney should be fired, imo, and he should be brought up for conspiracy assault charges. Why are he and Temple setting his punishment? NCAA or Atl 10 should hand out the punishment, or maybe the Philadelphia police. What he did, imo, is worse than what Ron Artest did. Artest lost his cool, justifiably, and then went nuts. Heat of passion offense. Chaney thinks illegal screens are being set and sends in a "goon" to commit hard fouls. Premeditated action from a guy who should know better. What did he expect to result from these hard fouls? Is it a total shock that an innocent kid ends up with a broken bone?
