I have been complaining about the NBA officiating for a long time, looking at a college game, those guys get it, they know how to call a fair game.. watching the games, especially the games the knicks play we get jobbed a lot. the knicks played well enough to win this game by 30, but at the beginning of the 4th quarter I just knew that the lakers were going to be in it late because of all the ticky tack fouls they were getting, I mean they didn't have a postgame at all, and had us in the penalty midway through the 4th, and then the refs allowed them to beat TT up in the post and then climb all over the back of sweetney and taylor for rebounds. I just don't think the NBA refs really understand what they are supposed to do when it comes to calling consistent games... The rules changes, the prerential star treatment, the reputation calls, all of this has really screwed up the officiating...

I just give up...

Part of it is that they have a lot of new oung refs right now, they are just learning how to call the pro game.

Also, it is much harder to call the pro game, the rules are different, there are a lot more nuances that you can't possibly see on TV.

That said though, I always feel like the refs have it in for the Knicks.

I think its just another example of the anti-NY bias, ESPN hates NY teams, I would not be suprised if the NBA plays along too. Hating on NY is generally popular, thats why ESPN does it, so that's part of it too.

The refs were definitely poor in tonight's game. They made bad calls throughout the whole game and were pretty inconsistent in how the officiated.
