THAT was the Mike Sweetney of Georgetown. Always under the basket. Always mauling the glass. Always getting to the line. When he wasnt killing you on the offensive glass he was racing down court to get postion in the post. If you didnt come out he would knock down the 15 footer. It wouldnt matter if there were 2 guys or 3 guys. He would find a way to get the ball down and use that wide body.

Hopefully starting him gets him comfortable because he and KT are a great compliment. They are small but their skills really fit together

This is why I was crying to get Sweetney into the lineup. So far so good. Knicks should have done this in the begining of the season. They would be in a much better position.

man, it's nice to see what Sweets is capable of doing. KT is the perfect compliment.

I think starting and knowing that he will get significant PT, is enabling him to relax and play his game.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't read all of fishmike's post.

what did he have, 19/12 that is very, very impressive.... he was impacting the game tonight, as was mo taylor in the post, abusing grant like a two dollar hooker..

Yes. He just has to control his foul woes. Sweetney was literally unstoppable, especially after he grabbed the offensive boards. I'm surprised he didn't get to the free throw line much.

Yeah Sweetney was awesome tonight.

The reason we almost blew it was because we stopped goign to him in the 2nd half, and put up too many jumpers.

When we run our offens inside out, which we did for large streches of the game, we look nice.

I have been calling for this frontcourt for a while now, Sweetney and KT that is, its about time we play our best PF and C as starters.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

what I didn't understand, in his first few games, was why he looked SO lost out there in the pros

Totally agree simrud, the offense is so much better when Mo or Sweets is in there.

19/12 in 30 mins.

he's good. when he gets involved early, he keeps away from those stupid fouls but when they sort of ignore him in the first 5 mins or so, he reverts back to his rookie ways. they need to make it an impetus to go through him early.

his ability to guard the big centers in the NBA will help him also. Yea, guys like Mihm will always be able to shoot over him but your still forcing him to take a jumper or a hook with no chance of an offensive rebound.

He was fun to watch last night. I have no problem with him only playing 30 minutes or slightly more. We have good depth and guys like JYD/Rose and even TT (in a small line up) offer different things at PF.

How good would he look next to a 7 footer with some skill and a nice jumper
