All that talk about our GM and players have really taken the focus away from our coaching staff. Franckly, I do believe that given the hand that Herb was dealt, he and his assistants have done very well. As we continue to shuffle new players into our roster, the challenge will be even greater. However, I do believe that his exposure to great teachers like Pat Riley will help him overcome all of the issues that he is faced with. At least now he has talents all over his roster to compete with. He has defenders and guys with championship rings on his roster that he can basically used as role models to teach his youngins.

I still believe that this current Knicks team will surprise a lot of people by end of season. That same media that has been criticizing this organization will be the very same one to apologize for their mistakes. Isiah will continue to improve this team, and I sure hope that he retains Herb as the coach for next season as well.

If Lawrence Frank and Van Gundy can lead with fundamentals and not long resumes, I see no reason why Herb can't.

I'm liking the grit they are showing and am truly looking forward not only to tonight's game (using my season tix) but also to the rest of this "playoff run".

let's say we do make the playoffs...let's just imagine.

That would mean we played at or near .600 ball.

That would make us contenders next year if we add just the right pieces.

Even if we play .500 ball the rest of the way, with this cast of underachievers, that's enough for me to give herb another full year.

I was watching a pistons special this weekend and aguire and isiah said the same things then that they said BEFORE they won in detroit.

I see isiah giving herb one more year.

He does deserve at least one year. His players are at least trying, that is something that we couldn't say for Lenny. If any of you have any doubts, look at how this team performs in the second half of games now. Since Herb has taken over, this team is never out of a game in the second halfs...He just needs time to instill his fundamentals and the result will be even better. Again, I still believe that this current Knicks team will make the playoffs and advance to the second round.....

If the Knicks play thw way they played the last 2 games for the rest of the second half, Herb earnes another year, IMO....Only issue I have is Marbury has publically called for Flip to take Herb's job....what type of chemistry does that lead to?

Correction, Marb didn't do that. You are wrong. Why would he ever do such a thing? Poltically, that would be incorrect. If you truly believe that Marb did that, show me when and where he did that.

my feelings exactly. If they play the way they have the last 2 games where they played defense I haven't seen in years and every single player tried their hardest even marbury & TT then Herb deserves to stay. Unless you can somehow get Phil Jackson, all the other coaches aren't worth it.

Marbury added: "Flip is real. He's not like everyone else. He doesn't jump on the bandwagon because of what someone else says. He knows what's real. Unfortunately, there are more fake people than real people."

Marbury's strong relationship could factor heavily into who coaches the Knicks next season. Marbury has remained steadfast in his support for incumbent Herb Williams, but if a change were to be made, Marbury would favor Saunders over Brown and Jackson.

Two weeks ago, Marbury smiled when a reporter mentioned Saunders as a potential candidate.

"Where did you get that name from?" he said. "That's a good name."

I don't understand, how is that lobbying for Flip to come in and replace Herb????? From what I have read, it seems to me that Marburry would much rather have Flip over Phill, that is if and only if Isiah would decide to go with a new coach. However, Marburry has said over and over again, that Herb is doing an excellent job....

Let's be realistic, if you were Marb, who would you much rather play for: Flip your old coach, or Phil an unknow?

I just view it as He should stick woth the no comment...If he says Flip is a good name as next coach of the Knicks, does that mean Herb Williams is a bad name?

Marburry needs to learn to be politically correct when he faces the media. He is still young and learning many facades of being a star in this league. Iverson had that problem also, but he fixed it. sometimes it is best to be humble than anythings else. Just like when he proclaimed himself as the best PG. He needs to learn to praise others and let people praise him.
