what do you guys think?

Absent a winning lottery win, I want to come out of this draft with three players

G. Diaz
Joey Graham
Nick Fezekas

If we can trade up with Sweetney to grab Graham and buy a pick like Portland did with one of the Russian kids they took with NJs pick and snag Fazekas, it's the cheapest way to expedite the process of roster changeover, finidng athletic skill players who will fit in our system.

I dont think next years draft will be to good because they are going to impose that 20 YO age limit.

Coming out of this draft with 3 really solid choices to give us an energetic burst like Chicago did this year.

With an emphasis on superior athletiscm and skills, also with size length and skills.
Im saying be aggresive with this draft, because it will be a good one, and it will certainly drop back a bit with a smaller talent pool.

I want to try to expedite this process

i think you can trade up by trading Kurt Thomas if he keeps playing at this level not even Sweetney. Especially for guys who are going to go in the 7-10 range

Kurt or TT/Penny and our two 1st round picks will get it done

if we trade sweetney it better be to pick for someone who we can almost guarantee is going to have a better NBA career than sweets + the pick combined

I would be shocked if Zeke didnt try something like that, only because my guess is he overvalues the worth of his own time.. ie; since he spent so much time scouting he wants to come away with something solid.

I like Sweetney but I would like to shore up the backup 1, size at the 3 and potential at the 5. Your plan certainly does that. Also I like Crawford at the backup 1 more and more. Even if he starts at the 2 no reason Jamal cant get 10-12 minutes at the 1.

I like Wayne Simien more than Sweetney, but look at our PF glut. thats one reason I disliked the second trade, because it really takes away the option of drafting a Wayne Simien.

The players I suggested are all high skill players, two of which are of the elite superior type of athletic ability, both can also really shoot the ball and play D. Fazekas is a real different prospect because hes a tad over 7-0 225 and plays inside out.

that would fill
6th man position
back up SF
C/PF with size and skills

and all are serious contenders to be starters one day. all of these guys would play right away. No waiting on anything here.
