Knicks trade Crawford, Penny & 1st rd pick ( Spurs ) to Seattle for Allen, Flip Murray & Jerome " big snacks " James. Imagine Marbury & Ray Ray in the back court & Flip as the backup. HHmmmm.... Seattle would do it because they get a reasonable contract & youth in Crawford, an expiring contract in Penny and a pick. Trade id # 2315909

Explain to me why a playoff contending team (seattle) is going to make a trade after the trade deadline.

I'm sorry, let me make myself clear. These are sign and trade ideas in the summer time / draft day.

Future... Allen is the best player in that deal by Far. Flip Murray is not much behind Crawford in Talent. DO the math, Seattle would be getting reamed.. its not realistic, not by a long-shot.

geez you guys are rough...

I was just about to post something similiar about Ray allen....

Ray is a free agent and they haven't extended his contract yet. Ray could wind up anywhere....Seattle would have traded him anyway if they didn't start winning. If Ray stays a free agent getting a hometown kid like Craw with his relatively small per year salary might be hard to pass up.

What about Craw and Maurice Taylor for Ray Allen? Or something involving Crawford.....Craw would be heart broken but he would be in his home town and I'm sure that would be a dream come true.

I'd hate to trade Craw but Ray Allen is on a different level. Ray is what Craw wants to be........There is the opportunity for him to do some acting with all the exposure in NY. He was Jesus Shuttlesworth for the love of....well, Jesus! It's a trade made in heaven.......

Marbs and Ray would be championship calibur backcourt.....I wouldn't trade Penny or Timmy for Ray.....Craw would have to go along with anybody else but Tim or Penny.....Knicks could save them for another deal which would be awesome....

why would seattle want Crawford's long contract? they can get a much better player or they can just dump salary and be better off

I'm sorry but even if seattle offered it, I'd still have to take a LONG look at it. Ray is going on 30 and although he's less one-dimensional than houston, imagine what would happen if he got injured or lost his athleticism/speed. man, we'd have a bunch of overpaid SG's: "great SG's of the '90's lineup:" allen, houston, penny

I don't want to go with Ray on this team either but PLEASE don't lump him in with H2O and Penny - that is a major disservice to Ray who I think is a bona fide MVP candidate this year and at last check was dishing 4 assists with his 24 PPG.

I really like Ray Allen's game he is really underrated for reasons unknown. I still don't understand why is name is not up their for a MVP considerations.

i wouldnt even trade Craw for Ray Allen, never mind everything else. We have to give Craw time and let him play 15+ minutes a night at PG next year as well. We don't need to subtract a G, we need to add 1-2.
Ray allen turned down 4 years 50mm--what d fdge do you want to pay him? what happened the last time we gave a 30 YOSG a secondary max contract?
Craw isnt ray, but he doesnt have to be. he just needs to play more consistent and I think he's our best option as back up PG going forward. We just need another 2G and a vet back up PG in case of injury.
RIP Crushalot😞

Briggs is right. I like Ray, but with the current plan, the goal is to try to be good enough to compete for a championship in three or four years. Add Ray Allen and the plan goes to hell, because he extends our cap hell and makes us good enough to not get any cream-of-the-crop picks, while not good enough to win an NBA championship.

Sorry, but in this case, getting Ray Allen would actually deter us from our goals.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I just noticed this thread now. I'd have to disagree. Jamal was brought here to be a sixth man combo guard and I think that is the best role for him. I think a Marbury/Allen/Crawford backcourt would be great. Then you focus on Ariza and Sweetney in the frontcourt and use whatever trade assets we have left to addd at SF and C.

Some of you fans are so unrealistic. Why in the world would we even consider adding Ray if we already have Marb and Crawf???
