Suddenly, instead of 18 year-old Trevor Ariza, there is a seasoned (highly intelligent) professional manning the frontcourt in Malik Rose.

Kurt Thomas and Tim Thomas gain touches in the offense that suddenly shows signs of rhythm.

Marbury and Crawford share leadership roles.

Mike Sweetney and Penny add stability

Is this a case of addition by subtraction?

Oh yeah, did I mention the Knicks picked up TWO first round draft picks?

watch the people who didn't even watch tonights get home and come here and try to spoil our fun.

I'm still hopefully we can trade Kurt for a mid 1st rounder and second all 3 1st round picks to land Bogut or even Vazquez at center.

I'm sure we'll win a ton of games with the shortest team in the league. Brilliant logic, guys.

Hey, maybe we win 37 games next year like we did a few years ago with Kurt Thomas at center. Then we'll really be smooth sailing, huh? Boy, will the haters eat crow, then.

Like I said before, Isiah better have two VERY good drafts, because this team is sunk for years, otherwise.

Solace - Isiah would not BE in the position to HAVE two good drafts wothout some impressive wheeling and dealing.

He inherited a mess and is transforming the Knicks right before the resentful media know-it-alls who haven't (and never will) predict a single ONE of his moves.

What does the media resent?

You tell me.

All the man has done is the best job he knows how with the stupidly-bloated payroll he was willed from Scott Layden.

Oh yeah.... one more thing....

Knicks Win

its good for core guys like Marbury, crawford, sweetney and ariza to have guys like Rose and JYD around them. Yes we are going to win 30 something games again and most likely miss the playoffs but at least we're seeing good basketball and guys playing hard. We can still be very creative come draft night. And we have to because without a center we wont win a championship and the only way way we're going to find the allstar center we need is through the draft not free agency and trades.

The idea is to win championships, not to be terminally mediocre.

To that end, so far Isiah is an idiot, but that could change.

I agree but its also about showing improvement and developing chemistry and then adding pieces to get you over the hump.

The problem I have is we have the right roleplayers to put around a team of two or three superstars. The only problem is... we don't have a team of two or three superstars. We have one star (I wouldn't even call him a superstar). We're building from the outside in, instead of developing a core first. It's VERY VERY hard to build that way. We're banking on getting a star in the draft because that's our only avenue to do so. We better get real lucky in the draft.

Way to overlook the reason the "haters" are actually uspet, the Mo Taylor trade.

We picked up a bloated contract bum, gave up a 2nd round pick, for no reason whatsoever.

Now we have Sweetney and Rose at PF, each one clearly better then Mo no defesen, no rebouning, no heart, Taylor.

But the Knicks managed to beat a team today, a team w/out its starting PG, w/out its starting C, w/ arguably its best player out for the season, so IT is the man.

Man, haters really don't know what they are talkin bout.

i disagree. Before when we beat short handed teams I was the first to say that we shouldn't be too excited about barely beating the Bobcats without Emeka because although we have won 20 something games this year we've played a good 48mins maybe only one or 2 time prior to tonight. And a lot of it has to do with Nazr being traded.

Get ready folks. No more slow starts to the 1st and 2nd half and before you look at it we're down 20..because Nazr is gone!

I still see no respone to why Mo Taylor is on this team right now.

And please don't give me the 2008 Houston crap. Why get a player that can't help you at all, just to have him expire?

I realize the Houston trade might've not been necessary but thats all people were focusing on yesterday instead of the positives. Just look at the poll Sky created "Isiah's Houston move" Most people gave Isiah an "F" for his deadline moves. I expect that kind of stuff from the media but not the fans who watch the games.

Adding another bad contract to a team full of bad contracts like Allan Houston's is not the end of the world as long as they don't last past 2008. Thats all I was trying to get across yesterday

On a side note, let me check that poll I bet its a lot more in Isiah's favor now!

That move by itself is not the end of the world.

But I veiw as a sign of things to come. Looks like all the rebuilding talk yet another spin by IT the snake, and we are gettin more overpaid bums again.

Its just this trade ricks of Layden and the usual Knicks. Thats why I hate it so much. And we gave a 2nd round pick.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Like I said yesterday. Until Isiah picks up a bad contract that goes past 2008 I will not be bothered. I would've crucified him if Taylor's contract went past 2009 and we gave up a 2nd round pick. But no his contract expires the same year as H20's.

Trust me Isiah is not going to bring in any more long contracts unless he's getting a talented player who a team looking to get under the cap wants to trade like Marbury.

To all of you Mo haters, I will say kiss my touche. That boy has something that none of the players we currently have on our roster have. That boy can ball. When he played with the Clips, when he was featured as the go to guy, he balled. Once he got traded, his role deminish and he lost his desire because he wasn't touching the ball much. To all of you who don't have a clue about this kid's game, I will simply say wait and see. Marburry and the coaching staff will figure out the right way to get him involve and feature him the same way he was featured as a Clipper. That boy can play with his back facing the basket, and most of all can play above the rim. There is nothing wrong with that trade. Isiah did well. You have to know talents, and Isiah does. Our only problem right now if the fact that we don't have a Center. If we can find a team willing to trade for Kurt, and we are able to move up in the draft to get a couple of big athletic bigs, watch out. Isiah may even package Sweetney along with whomever to build this team the proper way. Yest Mo has a big contract, but it is no bigger than TT, Penny, Houston, Marb, etc. After all, the kid is only 27, 6'9", 250 lbs.

Not every player in the league can play defense. I like that kid and he will prove you all wrong about him once he gets some playing time.....

he's also a lot more overweight now then he was in LA. I'm sorry but putting up 16pts on those terrible clippers teams means nothing. At least Tim Thomas put up 14 playing with cassell, big dog and ray allen! To expect him to help our interior offense when the matchup is right is one thing and can really benefit us at times but to expect him to suddenly become an allstar is crazy!

Shouldn't really look into the last two wins as signs to come. Philly was undermanned, Indiana played last night in Indiana. Neither view NY as a threat, wrote this game off.
