Its protected up to 26 so if we have to give it up it somehow means we became and elite team. Also there is lottery protection for the 'future' pick we would owe them. In a nutshell we dont owe them a #1 until we are out of the lottery, and if we are in it until 2010 they dont get a pick from us.

Solace... maybe so. Note sure if it was 'a' first rounder or the Knicks first rounder. My guess is we will hold it until a year we can afford to give it up.

Ty for clearing that up fish, at least now we know for sure that we have 4 first rounders in the next 2 drafts.
