Now they are capped out and have 3 max players, a lousy frontcourt and little to improve unless they plan on trading Vince and Kidd in the offseason.

They just lost back to back games against the Raptors and Bucks.

No way they are making up 4 games to win the division

they would have been better suited to keep Kidd's minutes low and just tank, especially now with RJ on the bench. That team would have been dreadfull and the Nets would have had a solid shot at a very high pick, even Bogut

Let's not be ridiculous. The Nets are in good shape for next year. They probably make the lottery this year, with the Webber trade going as it did. So, let's say they get the #12 pick in the draft. Next year, RJ is back, Nenad has a year's experience, and they likely grab or trade for a big man such as Swift or Shareef. The truth is that the Nets are back in a big way next season. RJ-VC-Kidd is the best 1-2-3 in the NBA when healthy.

Next year the Nets will be one of the top four teams in the east, guaranteed.

They seem to be in ok shape, but with only 6 players under contract next season they have alot of spots to fill.

There's spots to fill, but they do have two first rounders, also, let's not forget.

exactly fish, they had this 2 week window of opportunity to really do something about the future of this franchise and didn't do it.

imagine they dumped kidd to minny for cassell and spree and a pick. now we're talking about a team with MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR cap space, RJ and a nice young big in KRSTIC, plus 3 first round picks, pluse two trade exemptions.

that easily could've turned into swift, dalembert, watson or a number of PG's in the draft.

but with that said, they're not in a horrible position now. they still have a pick, KRSTIC and RJ. and they could still dump kidd who's value is probably a little higher now than it was in november b/c he's playing. so they do have options and aren't handcuffed.

Solace, realistically they only have 1 first rounder this year...the Clips pick is top 14 protected.

they have 6 players, no cap space an their bigmen are Krstic and Cliff Robinson. I like Krstic but I'm not even sure he's better then Nazr right now. Their best bet is to trade Carter or Kidd for some combo of young players.

3 stars, yea. One's broken, one's breaking down and the other one will break any day now. The only 'star' worth anything right now is RJ and he cant carry a team anymore than the other two.

Kidd's so great... its funny how he's not the same PG without Kittles and Kenyon running the floor and guys like Rodgers and Harris spreading the floor. Poor Jason, Nets are 10 games under. Wonder how often he thinks about what it would be like playing for the Spurs?
