Ewing may not have the rings but he did lead the Knicks into at least the 2nd round for 10 straight years. Getting to the playoffs for a decade straight is solid, advancing every year is impressive.
What followed was Layden's ineptitude run amok. Now its going to take a lot of time to undo. We are lucky in some ways that Dolan is willing to spend to speed up the process. Otherwise your looking at a 5-6 year Bulls like rebulding process
When I look back at it, what Ewing did was incredible. You never thought about struggles to make the playoffs, it was like man win a championship, we need to get past the Bulls in the Conference finals. And that was in a strong, very strong Eastern Conference. Now it is like man, we need to get to somewhere around .500 ball for the season and maybe we can get in.
Now guys like Houston who makes like 5 times what Ewing ever made, gets off light. Where is all the media pressure on Allan like Ewing. I mean now it seems that everyone is turning on Marbury but Allan gets off. Did I miss something. Everyone else is playing hurt, Damn Ewing once played with a partial tore ACL, even TT is playing hurt now, and according to most people on this forum he is soft. Houston's condition is chronic, it won't get better, ask Webber about it.
