How about Marbury to the Hawks for Kenny Anderson and their #1? It would give us two shots at Bogut in this draft.

We could probably land Bogut without moving Marbury.

I never understood this moving young superstars thing for draft picks that noone really knows how they will turn out. Kinda like when one guy last year wanted to trade Marbury, TT, KT for all the Bull's bad contracts and their draft pick. At best you break even, at worst you give away assets.

Actually, hold on to that idea untill draft night.

Then if they get the first pick, or are in a position to take Bogut, then go ahead and do the deal.

Then take either one of the many great PG's coming out this year. Ideally Chris Paul, but there are like 2-3 more guys out there in the 1st round who look good.

Then trade expiring deals and Sweetney for Randolph (he is apparently benched), and try to move Aria and some guys for Artest if they are not willin to deal with him anymore.

You are are looking at a possiblity of this:
PG Chris Paul
SG Craw
SF Artest
PF Randolph
C Bogut

I think that's pretty damn good, but a lot of the things do not have a great chance of happening.

Maybe Marbury for Harrington, and a 1st round pick, if the Artest trade never happens.

The Randolph deal seems very possible if they continue to feud like they are right now in Portland.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

excellent plan! very unlikely that Marbury will ever be traded and I will be just as happy if he isn't but great plan nonetheless. You have to figure that a professional GM have all the possibilies in their heads as they look at the whole picture. If a GM can't see the whole picture then he shouldn't get millions of dollars.

It is a very good idea because you get the allstar potential center you desperately need and you take advantage of this drafts strong point by taking a top PG wth your pick. So I really hope Isiah thinks about this if Atlanta lands the #1 pick.

In any case, the Knicks need to provide Marbury with more help. They lack a
dominant post player. Their best shooter, Allan Houston, is a knee twinge
from retirement. Their next best scorer, Crawford, is young and untamed.
The young prospects, Ariza and Mike Sweetney, are not ready for major
roles.

A Western Conference scout who has watched several Knicks games referred to
Marbury's surrounding cast as "a bunch of marginal role players."
that was from todays NY times... I thought it was pretty fair. you really think Marbury is the problem with this team? Lots of guys in the NBA dont like each other. Webber and Peja dont like each other, Garnett and Wally dont, hell, Kobe got Shaq traded and Marbury and KVH dont like each other.

It happens...

The joke is that that was my exact same first thought too

The idea of reaching a final evaluation of a player when he has no supporting cast is also a joke

You had a different story earlier in the year, but I guess we all adapt to what's convenient.

Point is that I'd rather build with a real big man first. Building a team around a PG is assinine; it gets you a team that's ceiling is 45 wins. The problem is that nobody bothered to look at our basement, which is apparently about 25 wins.

Time to change strategy.

What was the story earlier in the year? The team has been disappointing, but the plan for rebuilding doesn't have to change. It's still get good, young players to support Marbury.

You should have told the Bad Boy Pistons not to build with Isiah or the Lakers not build with Magic. That could have really helped them.

Building around Magic and building around Marbury are two entirely different things. One works, the other doesn't.

Sorry but Marbury isnt the player Isiah was. Also the Pistons had one of the NBA's best all time rebounders to put with Lambeir, Sally and Mahorn. Also Magic (who was 6'9) played with a couple other guys... I think their names were Kareem and James Worthy, two pretty 'ok' bigmen. Either you dont know your NBA history or you swallowed a retarded pill today instead of your usual... vitamin

I think Bonn is Isiah.

Sorry but you must have swallowed a retarded pill or you just need reading lessons if you read what I wrote and *somehow* thought that I was comparing Marbury to Isiah or Magic! Don't blame me for your rebo pill intake
