Forgot if this was already posted or not, but...

http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/40742.htm
There's been speculation Marbury fueled the Keith Van Horn trade because of a past feud with Van Horn when they played for the Nets. But Marbury denied it vehemently after last February's trade, and that seemed believable because of how well Van Horn and Marbury were playing last winter.

A new book on Sebastian Telfair, "The Jump" contains a section in which Marbury supposedly told Telfair's brother that he had strong input in the trade.

Marbury's Cousin, Danny Turner, a Lincoln High assistant coach, said in the book that Marbury admitted to him "in two different phone calls that he had pushed Isiah [Thomas] to make the Van Horn trade."

"Stephon told me that," Turner said. "He said, 'Yo, I got Van Horn.' "

Telfair's father, Otis, was quoted in the book: "And that was the worst thing the Knicks did. Everybody knows Stephon was involved in that. I told you all, when Stephon came to the Knicks. Didn't I say Van Horn was on his way out?"

Can't imagine why.

On the plus side, Isiah's rating just went up in my book, now that I know it wasn't so much his decision.

However, as for Steph, I hope his ass gets traded.

Lets chill out here. I know Telfairs father said this but things were apparently not so great between Steph and Sebastian at the time and maybe this is a product of their little beef. If any of you think that Isiah is making trades just based on what Stephon says then we are in REAL trouble. I dont believe this rumour at all.

I'd be suprised if this rumour was NOT true. Steph's dislike of Van Horn was well documented. Anyway, even if it isn't, it's truly unfortunate that Isiah decided to mess with something that was working. His motivation was obviously to add team chemistry. Except he neither did that or upgraded the talent.

Its all speculation. It probably is true. But there isn't enough proof to state anything as a fact.

Kidd got KVH kicked out of NJ. KVH was traded for Big dog for what ever reason. And Steph supposedly wanted KVH out of NY. So what up with KVH???

ditto. i was particularly watching those two on the bench, and on the court when kvh was here. those smiles and positive attitudes, not to mention looking for eachother on the court looked pretty genuine to me.

I know what you're saying but its still possible that Marbury and Isiah still felt they could do better than KVH as their starting SF even as good as he was playing with Marbury. Fans here even complained that we were going nowhere with KVH. Sometimes you don't realize how good people are until they're gone.

Yeah, who even cares? The trade was over a year ago, and KVH is having just as bad a season as TT. I would think it's time to move on, whether it's a good trade or not.

OK, Vindictive1997. You guys went on for 10 posts, "I'm right", "No, I'm right"...

Anyway, I don't fault Isiah if he traded KVH because his superstar told him to. Chemistry is a huge thing on a team.

Even so, the best team we put together under Isiah was right before we traded Van Horn, IMHO. It's a shame.

Not to throw out stats, but the KNicks were 25 and 29 with Van Horn and 19 - 11 after the trade. Also, up until the January of hell, they were an additional 16 - 13. That gives the knicks a winning record without van horn.

While you may define better as liking van horn over tim thomas, I am positive we are better this year than last year. (january has been stricken from my memory)

Also, I'm still one of the few people that loves our current roster and am excited about next year...heaven forbid we get bogat (sp?) or pick up a shot blocking big...I'm happy as a clam.

I know, I know, my optimism has gotten me blasted...but I'm in a good mood, so let me have it!

We are far worse this year than we were last year. GayZ played well for us last year which is why were ok, but KVH fit Marbury's style better, and has always been the better player. I'd gladly take a mulligan.

I had to go through NBA.com, but the trade happened on Feb. 13th...coincidentally, if we have the same record this year after the break, will be right at 500.

Actually I misread the first time. Even so, "25 and 29 with Van Horn and 19 - 11 after"

That adds up to 44 wins, 40 losses. I'm glad we were such a good team last year that we played two extra games and were above .500.

For some reason I thought we were 39 and 43 last year.

And look at me...the math major...ok, lemme double check that.

According to nyknicks.com, we were...
Knicks were 0-1 in October, 7-9 in November, 7-9 in December, 8-8 in January, 4-8 in February, 9-5 in March and 4-3 in April.

And the trade of KVH was ...

At the All-Star break (Feb 15), Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohammed were acquired in a three-team deal that sent Keith Van Horn to Milwaukee and Michael Doleac and Joel Przybilla to Atlanta

Before Feb 15th we were 3 - 2 in february and after, I subtracted from the 4 - 8 february...which is 1 - 6 after vanhorn in february (I think I found the error )

That's 14 - 14 after the break...thanks...I needed that.

What about our record with Marbury and KVH playing together? Or what about our record with KVH playing under Isiah?
