Just wondering what the reaction is to last night's win from the people who desperately want the Knicks to get that 5th pick.

I'm annoyed we won. I wanted KVH to torch us for 99 points and for us to lose.

Seriously, though, at this point, in my mind, every win is a bad thing.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No - I'm a Knicks fan but also a basketball fan. If you have every team that doesn't have a good chance of making the playoffs playing to lose it makes the season a farce. Plus, I'm not convinced teams that play to lose benefit in the long run anyway.

Exactly; I wonder how many of these people who are upset we won would still be trashing the players for poor effort if they lost to the Bucks

no because they beat a team they were suppose to beat without Redd.

They'll still lose to all the better teams. And there are about 25 of those teams

I would have been upset but now that i noticed we are not tanking we just sucked through all those games I am happy we won. I accepted the fact we will not make the playoffs and still get a crappy draft pick its the way of the knicks.

exactly I'm not upset because I expected them to win after finding out right before the game that Redd wasn't playing. There will be plenty of losses in the future. You gotta win once every 15 games. It's the law of probability

It's been obvious that they are playing hard but they're just no good. It doesn't surprise me though that we won 2 games this week because Sweetney is playing alongside Kurt over Nazr. Something I wanted since day one when I was saying that Nazr is not a good starting center because he has too many holes in his game. all he can do is hit the boards and get those putbacks but he can't do anything else on offense, can't block shots and obviously can't play defense either.

we really beat a CBA team. KVH was probably their best player and he's all out of whack. If Penny isnt having a lil Penny flashback that game is a lot closer.

Look at the upcoming schedule.. we have 29 games left. We never win on the road and we are 21-32. Thats a 32 win season and around the 6-7 seed. If Utah/Port/Tor/Milw play 'ok' we can finish 5. Hopefully Utah plays better (they have the most talent of that group). I think we are better than Tor and Mil but not by much. Its important we dont pass these teams. The difference between picking 5 and 9 is astronomical if you look at the draft over the last 10 years. This one may suck, you never know, but if its deep or even decent 5th is huge.

if we don't go with sweetney and ariza the 2nd half, and we still see penny, tim, and nazr out there, we are looking at no higher than 6 or 7 like you said. utah is really banged up with injuries. if it's not ak47, it's boozer. they have the talent, but they can't get everyone on the court and that's a death sentence out west. our only real hope is if we play the young'n's. go sign an erob or somebody like that and play marbury 30 mins a night. (personally, i don't think that's going to happen b/c of the pessimism that's been engrained in me for the past 4 years, but we'll see...)

I know its better for the Knicks's draft hopes if they tank but its nice to read that Marbury was sittting on the bench because the rest of the squad was playing well and he didnt mind or complain about it.

Seeing signs of maturity from Marbury and some better decision making by Crawford(from what Ive read) and Sweetney's improvement is as important for next season as high draft picks.
