Who's the better player: Vince Carter or Richard Jefferson? Before the season started, I would have said RJ. But now Kidd and Carter look like they're playing better together than Kidd and RJ did earlier in the year. From what I've seen over the past few weeks, I'd have to say a healthy and motivated Carter is better than RJ.

Carter. At least the one we're seeing now.

Admission: I was WRONG for saying I wouldn't trade Crawford for him.

I'm sure we would have been getting Rose too.

Who do you think is better, TMS. Vince or RJ?

i think Vince is the far superior offensive player, but RJ is a better defender & gives more of an allout effort...talent wise i say Vince...as for who i'd rather have on my team, it's not as clearcut...& i say this even as RJ is probably the player that gets on my nerves more than anyone.

as for us getting Rose too, the salaries don't match up...Crawford, KT & JYD for Vince & Donyell works under the cap...add Rose in the deal & you'd have to convince TOR to take back Penny or TT as well.

I was very willing to trade for Vince back when the rumors were rampant.

Don't really remember if I would've given up Crawford for him, though. Probably not.

Vince carter always was an Elite player, someone that was ranked in the top10. There is no doubt that if healthy, he is much better than RJ and Crawford. The problem Isiah had was that Carter was injury prone over the last 3 years. If he is healthy, he can once again be the best player at his position in the league but thats a big if considering the last 3 years.
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Yeah, obviously more players would have to have been involved. My point was that none of the trade rumors that I remember had us getting Vince without also getting Rose

Would've loved to have Vince.

He's undeniably better than RJ.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

He's definitely better than RJ...

I didn't want him because any player that dogs his own team to get traded is bad news. It's like starting a relationship with a girl that's cheating on her boyfriend to be with you. She'll cheat on you in the end as well. When things go bad in Jersey, Carter's girly ways will rear their ugly head again.

If it was a sure thing that Carter would stay motivated and stay at a high-level, then of course I would have wanted him.

Vince is more talented but RJ plays harder, plays hurt and is better on defense and the boards.

It depends on the team. If you need a guy to carry a heavy scoring load and take all the big shots you want Vince. If you already have some depth, especially at scoring I would take RJ. If I'm the Knicks I would rather have RJ. If I'm the Nets and had to choose I would rather have Vince.

I think Vince is the better player when healthy and motivated, but RJ always plays hard and is motivated. So, I'd rather have him on any team in the long-term regardless of team needs. If you're team needs scorers, you can fill that need elsewhere. And RJ's not a bad scorer himself too.

Ha! nah not even close of course its Carter even with the injury risks! Jefferson is a bum! The Nets made a huge mistake in making him a franchise player. Nets fans would rather trade him right now for a PF.

by the way Carter re-injured his ankle and it looked ugly last noght he had to leave the game.

Some newspaper (either Post or daily news) was reporting that the deal was Vince and Jalen for Kurt, JYD, and Tim but that Isiah turned that down. Don't know if it was true or not, but I would've done the deal then and I would still do it now (obviously).

i have a real hard time believing Isiah would have turned down an offer like that.

yea... me too, especially when Dolan continually says he has "full resources"

Tor had to have wanted our #1 this year or something that made Zeke balk.

Some ESPN writer, maybe Bucher, wrote that the Raptors weren't allowed to trade Vince to NY because they didn't want Vince to re-emerge in the biggest market in America. Isiah offered, by far, the best package talent wise.

Zeke said in the paper Toronto wanted expiring contracts and youth. He said he wasn't willing to give up both. Plus they demanded that we take back Jalen Rose.

But If we did take Carter and he has been playing the way he has. His value would be pretty high right now in another deal for a quality Big.

But then again if he got hurt then OUCH.
