The Knicks are doing a great job of losing. But it sure isn't fun, and it's been kind of boring. Since there are stories of Iverson wanting out of Philly, I came up with this trade idea to kill my time...

Indiana trades:
C Scot Pollard (4.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (24.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 41.6 minutes)
PF Austin Croshere (9.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 apg in 26.8 minutes)

Indiana receives:
PF Jerome Williams (4.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.2 minutes)
PG Allen Iverson (29.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.6 apg in 42.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -4.7 ppg, -9.2 rpg, and +3.0 apg.

New York trades:
C Nazr Mohammed (11.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 0.5 apg in 28.6 minutes)
PF Jerome Williams (4.6 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.2 minutes)
PG Stephon Marbury (21.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 8.2 apg in 39.9 minutes)

New York receives:
C Scot Pollard (4.8 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 19.6 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (24.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.1 apg in 41.6 minutes)
PF Austin Croshere (9.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.6 apg in 26.8 minutes)
SF Aaron McKie (1.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 13.4 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +3.4 ppg, +4.0 rpg, and -2.7 apg.

Philadelphia trades:
SF Aaron McKie (1.6 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 13.4 minutes)
PG Allen Iverson (29.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 7.6 apg in 42.0 minutes)

Philadelphia receives:
C Nazr Mohammed (11.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 0.5 apg in 28.6 minutes)
PG Stephon Marbury (21.3 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 8.2 apg in 39.9 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.3 ppg, +5.2 rpg, and -0.3 apg.
Plus $3 cash considerations from NY

TRADE ACCEPTED

WHY for each team:
Indiana - gets rid of unstable Artest & Croshere's long contract, receives Iverson to play at SG with O'Neil, Tinsley & Co. Gets a great back up F in JYD. Adds $34 mil in future payroll but the addition of Iverson will make Indiana a legit title contender for the next few yrs.
NY - Gets rid of Marbury's long contract and saves a total of $20 million in future salary. Gets back a tough player in Artest who has worked well with and respects Isiah. Crosher while being overpaid contributes unlike TT with only 2 more yrs after this season. Gets decent back up C in Pollard. Has to take back McKie's bad contract but still saves $20 mil. The total salary for 07-08 season will be $23mil compared to the current $36mil. NY still has next season's ending contracts of TT/Penny/Vin/Mooch/Pollard and trade assets like KT & Sweet to work with. Needs to find a way to acquire additional 1st round pick and draft a big man and a PG.
Philly - gets a superstar PG in Marbury (2 yrs younger) for Iverson who wants out of Philly. Gets rid of McKie's bad contract and saves $7 mil (plus $3mil from NY). Receives great F/C in Nazr.

NY:
Craw / McKie / Rookie PG
Artest / Penny / H20
Croshere / Ariza
Sweet / TT / Rookie PF
KT / Pollard / Rookie C

Indy:
Tinsley / A Johnson
Iverson / Fred Jones
Jackson / JYD
O'Neil / Bender
Foster / Harrison

Philly:
Marbury / Ollie
Korver / Green / Salmons
Iguodala / Williamson / Brown
Kenny Thomas / Nazr / Skinner
Dalenbert / Mark Jackson

I know it's not going to be popular, but I take Artest over Marbury any day of the yr. I like the idea of replacing Marbs with Ron Ron while trimmimng the payroll by $20 mil.

Artest as SG? Interesting. I see ronron as SF.

IT does not make us bigger.

I can see Ron Ron losing his mind playing with Craw. I don't want to hand the keys to the team to Jamal, I don't think he has the IQ to be a Point. He can't contain himself playing the wing!

Its an interesting post and Idea never-the-less.

Artest is a head case, but he's an awesome player. I think he's top 10 in the league. Nobody shuts down 2s or 3s better than he does and still puts up 20 PPG. He's also extremely strong and could probably guard 4s better than anyone on our current team. He's the same height as Sweetney and the same weight as Nazy. Look at how much worse the Pacers are when they had to replace Artest with still a solid player in Stephen Jackson.

hey, i was bored out of my ass... this trade does involve lots of players but I think it's fair for all 3 teams involved.

I see Ron Ron playing SG as a short-term thing. That's why we need to get a good PG in this draft which is deep with PGs. But the draft priority must be a big man (or two). Once we get a decent PG, both Craw & Ron slides to SG & SF.

In any case, what Isiah needs to do is to get another 1st round pick before the trade deadline...

Talk about some silly trades made by a bored fan........check me out!!!

Timmy, Nazr, Moochie, Baker and Brewer for Ratliff, Anderson and Miles!!!! It works under the salary cap.....

No but wait I'm not done!!!!

KT, and Penny for Boozer, Harpring, Collins and Giricek!!!!!!

Oh yeah baby!!!

Salary cap hell, but the Knicks still get a group of young guys back for all of our ending contracts!!!!!

Boozer/Sweetney/JYD
Miles/Harpring/Ariza
Ratliff/Collins
Steph/ Anderson/free agent
Craw/Giricek

This would be a very athletic deep team (maybe too deep)with guys you could interchange and continue the energy and production out on the court. Guys would have to bring it evey night since they have a very capapble back up on their arse dying for more PT......Harpring is an ending contract next season.

LOL.....Where are you TMS?

Not a terrible idea. Would give us a great shot at Bogut, as we'd lose a lot this year trading for a guy who won't play at all.

So, say we got Bogut and played McKie at PG (I'd rather have McKie handling the ball than Crawford), you then you could have a starting lineup that looks like:

C-Bogut
PF-Sweetney
SF-Artest
SG-Crawford
PG-McKie

Then again, you still need some follow up trades to really make this work. I'm not the biggest Artest fan, but I'd be lying if I didn't say it had some promise.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
