I think this guy is probably the most underrated players who isn't expected to get drafted. He comes from a small school and is very skinny at 225lbs, but is 7-2. You never here about him, but he puts up spectacular numbers. He's scored in double figures 18 times this year, put up double figures in rebounding 9 times this year including a whole bunch of 9 rebounding performances, and got in double figures in blocks 6 times this year which is amazing. He finished the year averaging 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 blocks a game in 25.4 minutes. A lot of you may disagree, but i feel with your second round pick you need to take a gamble on a guy like this even if he probably won't be an impact player. There always end up being one or two in the draft and this guy could be one of them. I think he's a guy we should consider for our second round pick. He's tall and thin, but may be a sleeper this year.

Well I'd rather have Shawn bradley than Felton Spencer.
We suck.

With a second round pick i'm willing to take a chance on a guy who sounds half-appealing as Shawn Bradley. My next question is, how do you think his name is pronounced?

Are u kidding me, I would rather the Knicks take a college point guard or and athetic foward instead of a bench warmer. It would make no sense for the knicks to go after a guy like that.

Uche Okafor from Missouri should be our second rounder..

http://mutigers.fansonly.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/okafor_uche00.html

look at this picture,

http://graphics.fansonly.com/schools/miss/graphics/2001-mbb-team-600.jpg

the 00 is Uche. He is extremely raw but fast and strong, the perfect second rounder.

Okafor could be a decent pick-up too, but i still like Mydra because of his exceptional height. Either way, these raw, athletic, centers are what we need to keep our eye on for the second round.

If we don't get Ming with the first round pick, then we certainly need to be looking at a center in the second round.

A guess at how to pronounce his name: Woshiek Murdrah.
We suck.

We have 3 second rounders this year, Ours, Boston's, and GS's, (Boston got Gs's somehow and we got 2 of boston's in Chris Mills trade) So we can get a few second rounders

Wow, if this is confirmed Layden will get his chance to shine. He's been good with the second round in the past. I still say NY has to go after West.

Could someone doublely confirm this? (is "doublely confirm" repetitive?)

A GS second round pick would almost mean a late first rounder.

#1 All he's drafted in the second round is roleplayers

#2 Look at the jazz's picks since Layden left....it seems layden wasn't the one behind the draft...just took credit for it

Layden did draft the Jazz's Russian rookie who looks impressive.

With the second round, all you can hope for are role players. Not that the Knicks need more role players, but with a trimmed bench, you can only hope for young, athletic, big-men role players.

Well in the second round you 've got to take a chance. So a raw player with a chance of getting there, an extremely young player (HS, juco, freshman) or a foreigner of whom it's uncertain if they'll go to the nba anyway are all good second round picks. That and those who you scouted and thought to be a 1st rounder that slipped to the 2nd round (Loren Woods per example, or Cuttino Mobley).

I really can't see the Knicks getting 3 second rounders this year. I know we're supposed to get Boston's from the Mills trade, but i don't know if that has to be this year. I haven't heard anything about a golden state pick we're supposed to get. If we do get that amount of picks, we need to look and get a player like TayShawn Prince with one, Wojciech Myrda or Uche Okafor with the other, and DeAngello Collins or Udonis Haslem with the third. Maybe we'll even be lucky and Dan Dickau will be up for grabs with our first second rounder. At least having more than one pick gives us a lot of options.

I read somewhere (I think nbadraft.net) that Boston get's GS's second rounder, so I'm assuming it would go to us

We should draft like knicksbaby yeah said foreign/slips/small school/ young/raw talent

Gadzuric is a project (UCLA) He's going to go anywhere from late 1st round to mid 2nd

Lenny Cooke on nbadraft.net is projected as an early second rounder now, he was once considered a mid 1st rounder as a highschool senior

There's Tito MAddox, a once projected late lottery-mid 1st rounder until he lost his eligibilty, now plays for cba and is a 2nd rounder

Kelly Wise was a former lotto pick that slipped (We were once supposed to take him with the 9th pick a while ago)

I really like Dickau but I don't think he'll go that late

Then there is Juan Carlos Navarro, He was on Gasol's team and abetter player

And Juan Dixon could be a suprise like Cutino Mobley

I agree. With the first rounder take the sure thing(Drew Gooden) or Yao Ming would be my only exception. In the second round look for something more of a gamble, but could turn out really well. My top candidates who would probably be available are Tito Maddox or Dan Dickau, high school prospect DeAngello Collins(probably this year's Ousmaine Cisse, but hopefully better), Uche Okafor, or obviously Myrda, who this topic's about.
