I am having a horrible time understanding what the problem is with this team. At times they look really good, play their best basketball, but still ends up with a W. We have a lot of injuries and the front office has yet to do anything to address the problem. When guys are hurt, the options should be to replace them with able bodies either through offering 10 days contract to replace the injured bodies....I would give Isiah a D for not trying to do the necessary to change the garbage that we have been watching as of late....We need a shakeup amongst the players. We have already gotten rid of the headcoach, now one or two players have to go.....

Deadline is approaching. Wait and see if anything happens before handing out more grades. I also would have liked to see a few 10 day contracts, try some guys out, but there's still plenty of time.

the way it is going with this team, there is no such thing as time.. We are garbage and it annoys me as a fan when I see no movement what so ever from the front office....

If you're still hoping of winning the division, then yes, we have no more time. If you've accepted this season for what it's been starting on New Year's, then there is plenty of time.
If we trade guys like Kurt, or TT/Penny for their contracts, then it's not surprising it will be very close to the deadline. I will agree about some of the 10 day contracts. I wanted to bring in Woods, but he signed with a contender. Besides, I haven't read anything that said we didn't go after him (nor did I read anything saying we did). Have to move on. Now Sampson's on the waivers and everyone around here seems to really want him. It should be interesting to see what happens in this situation.
Calm down, until the deadline passes, there is still time.

How about the team wasn't very good to start the season with and it would be in the teams' best long term interests to be sellers here, if we can.
Its just a mix match mess. I mean coming back from 15 in the last 5 minutes against Miami looks snazzy, but the fact of the matter is we were down BIg late

dont you notice that in many, many games we are down double digits?

i dont think we have blown out 1 team all year, we had a few comfortable wins, thats it.

With 30 games left, just to get to .500, the Knicks would have to go, the team would have to go 22-8. Does this team look like it's ready to go 22-8? or more like 8-22?

Marbury's time down the stretch needs to be cut to 35 minutes and just let the Ls flow. Its better for this organization to lose as many as possible.

this whole gig that you need to win to save face and create some kind of fake aura is just that BECAUSE we dont have the right set of players!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Finley will probably be traded by midseason just so they can open that position for Jerry Stackhouse. How would he look with the Knciks???? Our needs are at the frontline and come to think about it, we need help everywhere. We need a bench, a real bench. Not a bunch of overpaid, not able to play players like what we have....

Briggs! I agree with you completely. I never liked the trade for Crawfford. I always wished that we had gone after Larry Hughes and Haywood instead. I was happy that we got JYD with the deal, but look at how horrible we are at the SG position. I think that it is time to move away from the idea of having Houston coming back healthy. That notion has been a bad idea for two years now. We have to do something, and do it fast. Isiah should offer Houston a front office position and force him to retire. He is hurting us in many ways.......And as for Dolan, he needs to stay away from the players. He is a freaking owner, and he needs to stay in his lane...

I like Finley, but I don't want him here. He's turning 32 next month and is owed about 67M for another 3 years after this season. These are the kind of deals we have to stay away from.

I agree. We don't need him......I don't know where our help going to come from...We don't have one guy in our squad that can actually take over the game...Marburry can, but not with this low talented team....

Briggs is spot on: We simply do not have the horses. Plus, we have had our share of injuries, which has only compounded an already existing problem.

We need to sit tight, maybe sell off some assets for picks and young, (i.e. CHEAP) players. But making a move like picking up Finley is exactly what we should not do. No more inflated contracts. No more simply trying to be a .500 or slightly better team. We simply have to draft wisely and do whatever we can to get under the cap by 2007. That won't be easy, but it will be possible. Will we do this? Probably not, because we have the worst owner in all of sports, someone who has no vision to realize that in the NBA, you often must tear things apart before seeing true progress. Then again, the Rangers seem to be truly rebuilding, so maybe there is hope.

BRIGGS is right. This team was never good to begin with.

That's why I think it's a good thing that we have so many injured players. Craw, Nazr, TT, H20, and I guess Marbury as well. The more we lose the better player we will get in the draft, possibly a franchise player.

I say NO to Finley and Eric Williams. Both are 32 yrs old, and we don't need to add vets. We need to go after a possible future centerpiece of the team and that's thru the draft at this stage. No need to acquire more vets, we need to get rid of them for more picks/youth.

And that brings up the question... Who are the franchise players in this year's draft?

There will not be a franchise player available until the next three years...The Knicks need to groom their own...Isiah is good enough to judge talents...That is why he should try to accumulate as many picks as possible. Trade Nazr, Kurt, TT, Penny, for garbage players, but be sure to get draft picks in return...

dido, am I on drugs, or are your posts actually making sense?

j/k

It was a massive setback tonight. TT can't do anything right. He can't make the Knicks win when we need him to, and he can't make the Knicks lose when we need him to either.
