marbury was crazy selfish in the 4th tonight. you're down 18 points in the 4th, why not pass it off and get some touches to ariza and sweetney. (well, he shouldn't even have been in the game but that's another post). instead, he went for his. i didn't like that.

One of the reasons I switched over from the Marbury fan club to the Ariza club (now accepting new members ).
What's even more annoying, when seconds winding down and we need a three, he drives in and gets two.
At this point, I wouldn't be upset if we benched Marbury. Let him rest up with those injuries that the paper (source being JC) says he has. It won't be pretty but play Crawford/Penny/Brewer/Moochie at the point. What have we got to lose? We most likely end up with a higher pick, and hopefully, a completely healthy Stephon next season.
I'd also like to see Zeke have several more conversations with Stephon. After that chat where Isiah told him he was the worst defensive guard in the league, Marbury stepped it up the next 3 games. Get in his head and try and get him in a better mindset. It's a shame that Marbury doesn't do it on his own, but nothing we can do about that.

Dudes! Marburry needs to be selfish. He should have been selfish all season long, perhaps our records would have been a little better. How in the world are we going to be down by 20, and guys are not making shots, and some of you expected Marburry to stand around and watch. What is wrong with your judgements????? We were losing folks, losing big. Somebody had to be selffish.....When he is passive, you all complain, but when he agressive or selfish, you complain also. What the hell>>>>>

there was no point to him going for his in the 4th. the game was over. that's when you get the young guys minutes and touches.

Phuk that. It didn't matter any freaking way. I much rather see the final score as it is now than 90-65. The hell with setting up players, especially when we have been blown away by the other team....

A loss is still a loss, whether it's by 1 point or 25, in this case, by 17. If we're going to lose, I'd like to see Ariza and Sweets get as involved as possible.

marbury is the only reason why the knicks are not in the NCAA...

If you want to see those boys play, than you have to trade Kurt and TT. They are the ones taking time away from those kids.....

Yes, and I want to see them gone...but I would also like to see us get something decent in return. Once Craw returns to the lineup, I still want Ariza to start. Bench TT. At this point, his contract is really his only trade value. Kurt has been playing pretty well as of late, and hopefully other teams have noticed.
But I don't know how that relates to Marbury dominating the ball in the 4th.

Dude! give it up. Marburry did what he has to do....His job was to keep us in the game, and he tried...Kurt Thomas took 15 shots too many in my opinion. ARiza should have shot the ball more and is TT

Really not getting anywhere right now, so after this post, I will leave this discussion. Where did I disagree about Kurt or TT taking too many shots? This thread was about Marbury, so that is what I based my posts around. If dj wanted to start the thread talking about Kurt or Tim, then I would get into that.
If it's a close game, then I want Marbury to step up and take those shots. He is our best player, and he can take over games offensively, but we were getting blown out. At that point, with a 19-30 record, my preference is to get the ball to Ariza and Sweets as much as possible. Why is it so important that our star player, who is in his prime, puts up big numbers? We know what he is capable of, and one game isn't going to make much of a difference for him at this point. Spend the remainder of time towards some development of the youngins. Sweetney was playing well, I would have liked to see us place more emphasis in getting him the ball down low.

With that, I leave you to argue what ever points you want.

hey, i agree with roten....star needs to be more selfish but more importantly star needs to go jugular in the 4th and make his stats count
in the win category

I agree start Crawford and Ariza and bench TT since he's so inconsistent. Crawford's jumpshot is inconsistent but at least he does other things well like run the floor with Marbury and Ariza, steals, assists and he's our best Free throw shooter. I would also like to see Sweetney start not Nazr.

who cares if Stephon is getting his when the team is getting blown out? if the other guys would have been doing their jobs from the beginning they wouldn't be getting blown out in all likelihood...if i were the star player & no one else was stepping up, i'd sure as hell take it upon myself to try & do it myself.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
i defended him in an earlier post, but tonight i'll diss him
