There has been a lot written about Chris Taft lately that has kind of shied to the negative, and I understand why. he played very, very well as a freshmen and seems to have platuead a bit at this point--he didnt get better from Y1-Y2, and at times he appears a tad aloof on th court. he is clearly behind Andrew Bogut, there is no doubt about that, BUT, there is not one reason why Chris taft cant continue to develop and turn into a jermaine oneal type 4-5. Sometimes we put to much on the back of 19 yo, expecting them to be ungodly, but they are still kids developing in every sense. The bottom line is he still has the skill at 6-10 1.2 260, hes tough, hes played on a team that has gone 50-7 with him in the starting line up and hes an aggressive defender in the post. This is why I think pick 5-6 is so important, because if we didnt win the lottery, and the Chris Paul, Marvin Williams and that Russin C do indeed go 2-3-4 and let say Utah is ahead of us at 5, and they have a dire need for a PG--likely either Deon Williams of Illinois[ or jarret Jack of GT, that would leave us with Taft, and that my friends is a coup. That why i think poistion 6 is so important, because it not only gives us the ability to get that 1 pick But a real good shot at the number 2 bIG AND if he dos inded become fully developed, he could be right there on par with bogut, but he is also a better defender than Bogut.
Carl Krauser, I know we need a back up PG and you don't even see his name in the mocks[he is 23 right now] but again you are talking about a TOUGH, TOUGh kid who is 6-2 and slightly over 200 pounds with a tremendous skill set and personifies true PG AND has talents to put up numbers in every category. hes a mean 1-1 defender and truly, if I may say, the most under-rated player in the country. His favorite player is isiah Thomas, he wears #11, hes from Queens and he's a ready made player--ready to go right now, no waiting on develoment there.
Im looking at this from a scenario where we only have pick 6-as we do now and houstons pick
think about how this would improve the team without any other moves. An extremely rpomising athletic big who can play now and get better+ a big PG who can step in right now and play
im kind of throwing out players in between 6 and 45, like havent in other scenarios where I would like to buy a pick and trade for one.
But adding two tough defenders and skill players who have done nothing but win, wouldnt be a bad second prize!
RIP Crushalot😞
