i posted this on another board:

would you guys be interested in a kurt thomas + cash for ervin johnson/kandi and a #1 deal?

and here were some replies:

This is the absolute worst time for us to acquire Kurt. I don't think we can make a significant run this year, and we can probably find somebody with our #1 as good as, if not better than Kurt. K.T.'s value is only going down in the future, so if we are making a run next year, it would be easier to trade for him then.

No deal here...it is imperative that the Wolves have a decent draft. They need to keep their picks...unless they can acquire a top 20 impact player to go along with KG (make that top 15)!!!

This is why I've been saying it's unrealistic to expect any team to give up a 1st rd pick for Kurt. I never would give up a 1st rounder for him if I were a GM at this stage in Kurt's career. He's NOT good enough to help put a contending team over the top.

no, he IS good enough, these fans just think minny's too far away from saving at this point b/c of spree and cassell.

No, he's a very bad man to man defender because his feet are too slow and he has no athleticism and no post game. The only thing he can do is rebound decently and make jump shots, two qualities that are not worth giving up a 1st round pick for.

If you like going to other boards to see what the fans think, try to see if fans at the Spurs or Heat boards would give up a 1st rd pick to get Kurt. My guess is that the Spurs fans would rather just keep Duncan, Rasho, and Rose and keep their draft picks. My guess is that the Heat fans think Haslem is already better than Kurt and Kurt is not needed and they'd rather keep their draft picks.

oh man!! what a shock! no one wants Kurt Thomas!

yet Isiah gave him 7 ****in million dollars!

If you get a young center that is rotting on someone's bench like Pavel Podzilkin is in Dallas + a 2nd round pick you do it for Kurt Thomas!

That's still better than losing Kurt for nothing, which was the only option other than re-signing him once Isiah was unable to trade him by the deadline last year.

Who cares what the fans think in MInny, for that matter, visa versa.

We don't dictate trades.

For a low first round, for a team making a run and needs a big, they will deal! IF not, Kurt is not as bad a some of you make him, but thats already been argued many a time.

yeah but 7-8million is alot of money!!!

thats about what stromile swift will get! Kurt is worth no more than 4-6million.

if his contract was $5-6million rather than 7-8million for for 4 years then he would be valuable.

Who cares if it's a lot of money. The Knicks are not trying to get under the cap
