"Bryan (NYC): What kind of compensation can the KNICKS get if VG coaches somewhere next year? Who do you see as their next GM?

David Aldridge: Since he quit, nothing. "

He's still under contract though which is an advantage for us. Maybe we can still get a late draft pick or cash.

I disagree with Aldridge on this one. I think that if he quits and is still under contract the Knicks would get some sort of compensation to allow him to go to another team. Just like in football with the St Louis Rams and Dick Vemeil. It makes more sense that if he was fired, the Knicks would get no compensation. Sometimes Aldridge can be dead wrong on issues.

Exactly. Miami had to get our permission to sign riley and they sent a 1st rounder as compensation.

So hopefully we can get a first rounder for next year.

I think that is asking a bit much. But it all depends on how desperate the other team is. You never know.

1st rounder from GS is fair. Portland was going to send Dale Davis to NYC for JVG last summer.

Because GS has one of the worst records in the league, i wouldn't mind taking there second round pick.
