think again. he was 33 going on 34 coming into this season, and everyone including isiah the knicks management and doctors knew he had a chronic problem in his knees. Many players are done by 34 or at a minimum, most players are well off their peak. So hes not an excuse, he wouldve been a commodity, like he was in the games he played as a servicable scorer, a player who could still put up numbers, but a guy who is succumbing to the aging process.
The team, its fans are better off at this point having Allan retire because there is a great chance he will never be reliable and will have slowe down at various aspects.

he's done, maybe he's a Penny at best, but I dont think so. He had a solid solid career for the Knicks and hit some huge shots. but its over, time to move on to the next spectrum.

This is a lesson learned from Patrick Ewing.

at this point, i don't think ANYBODY is using h20 as an excuse. i think you can use tim as an excuse tho b/c he played and contributed nothing close to what he did last season.

Anyone that even thinks about using the Houston injury as an excuse is out of their mind. This means, Isiah is out of his mind.

i seriously doubt zeke is using that as an excuse. he may be when the media is around, but he does have to show some type of confidence in his players. even if there at the end of there rope.

I've been saying it for 3 years. Any team with Houston as their best player cannot win anything.

But H20 is not the best player on the squad, nor is he billed in that role by the media, thats Starbury's role, then Crawford, then KT then H2O. Everyone wanted Houston to be the 3rd or 4th option, well now he is but yet you still talk about him like is the main man still. I don't get it.

This thread says, houston should not be used as an excuse. Which means he is not the main man and shouldnt be thought as one either.

Who's using him as an excuse? Why does Briggie get so much pleasure out of making sure no one can come up with excuses?

Because he is tired of all you blind IT lovers who keep proclaiming that he has done a good job and list injuries as excuses for this pathetic team.

A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

there's a ton of guards playing at a high level in this league at Houston's age. Its not an excuse, its just cause and effect. If the Knicks were going to play well and win this division I think they needed to get something from Houston. They didnt and we wont. Life goes on... now you focus on improving your chances to improve the team, and that means draft position and extra picks.

I don't think you can use Allan as an excuse becuase he was hurt and has been hurt. We can use the lack of production of bot Allan and Allan as an excuse, because Zeke was counting on something from them.

Why should anyone use Houston as an excuse? Seriously, thats just another way of blowing smoke in the fans eyes. Houston being injured did not phase the team till the end of December when we were 1st place in the Atlantic.

no but when other guys got hurt not having him was an issue. Yes, we were playing well without him. Then Penny got hurt, Crawford got hurt, we had a lot of different guys nicked up. It happens, life goes on but the Knicks were just better than .500 with these guys all playing well. They start getting banged up and the bottom falls out.

So when the other guys got hurt and the Knicks started losing, it was their injury/injuries that hurt the team not Houstons.

its simple this team was built in this short time with h20 in its plan he was to be our pure and only shooter. When that did not pan out it causes a ripple effect. Some of you blind haters may not understand this but that does not mean the people who don't agree with you are wrong.

If IT was counting on Houston for the Knicks to be better then 11 games under .500, then he is even worse than I thought he was.

No, it was all the injuries put together that they used as excuses. First it was Allans, then Jamals, and now TTs, and now all of the injuries. Then the excuses started building up, and Stephons comment possibly becoming a disctraction, and nobody playing defense is what hurt the team. They were winning fine w/o Allan. Then they started winning a little more when Allan came back, then Allan became gimpier and gimpier. But it wasn't just that. It was the fact that NOBODY besides JYD played defense. It was a bigtime losing situation. I really hope things clear up a little.

we were fine without h20? Everygame the opposing team doubled marbs or played zone we lost. We were as fine as the US team in the Olympics. Why you think defensive teams like the pistons shut us down. After half time they saw our weakness and then zoned us and doubled the only scorers we have marbs and craw. With a shooter they have to choose what they want a shooter draining shots or marbs driving to the hole. We don't have that now so teams want us to shoot cuz they know we will never be able to hold it up for 48 minutes.
