The way I see it is do whatever it takes to get the superstars. The Knicks gave up a ton to get Marbury. I had been in favor of acquiring Carter all along, since the summer... yet some people had the audacity to claim Tim Thomas was better. Shameful thing.
I even thought the rumors of Marbury as a centerpiece for a Carter trade would have been cool--- it would have allowed Crawford to play PG--- his more valuable position--- and would have given us a tall, quick backcourt.
But alas... the Nets came up w/ the package. Rod Thorn's an awesome GM... or maybe he's just very lucky. He ended up w/ a scrappy coach w/ no NBA experience who knows how to plug in the pieces. Somehow they've gotten incredibly and timely output out of a team w/ 2 stars and a bunch of CBAers. The game plan is simple enough that the role players can step on the court and contribute
The Knicks biggest flaw continues to be no pure shooters, limited post-up play, and poor spacing. Not quite sure how to fix the mess we're in--- but look for a lot of movement right before the trading deadline when team's are looking for the missing piece. KT/Nazr are both very solid big men that could help almost any contender... Ariza has a buzz around him.
I wonder if New Orleans would be interested in a Baron Davis/Marbury swap...

How can anyone honestly say that they are glad the Knicks didn't trade for Vince Carter
and mean it
if you have a chance to trade for a Vincent Carter
you just do it
yeah like NIKE
Very easily...I can't stand the guy. Toronto wanted a package that had JYD, KT, Nazr, and TT (can't remember if they also wanted Penny), for Vince and some bad contracts. If we made that trade, we would only have Baker, Sundov, and Sweets at the 4/5.
If we go on a skid like this with Vince, does he slack off? We have enough guys that don't like to put up an effort, don't want to bring in more.
