He was a very good player for Indiana, but the last two years with the Kings, when he has gotten the chance at being the man, this guy has been unbelievable. I watched him close last night, and what he has is

Fantastic body control for someone his size--most 7 footers just cant move like that, although he isnt fast, he;s very fluid, tremendous drive and upper tier basketball IQ and fundamentals. I think he is almost undervalued or not utilized enough because the team is based on Peja and Webber. I would try to trade Peja for Artest if I was them

two related responses:

why would you trade Peja for Artest? Peja is an unconscious shooter- 3pters for him are like lay ups.

And your point about Miller not having been drafted- this is why sometimes I think posters here place too much emphasis in trying to get some bigs that haven't hit it with their teams- Kwame, Dalembert etc- not singling them out.

But, I sometimes think we would be better trying to find some unsigned big in the NBDL or over in Europe rather than trading for one of these guys that might not turn into anything.

who Bruno Sundov?

or how about Leon Smith?

I have a better idea how about we get a high draft pick and draft Bogut or another big and not waste it on an undersized player.

forget that he wasnt drafted... what really hurts is he was traded for Scott Pollard, cash and a late draft pick. THATS what hurts.

I believe he played in Europe for a year after Purdue. Still think Isiah is wasting his time in Europe?

Cmon... you have to look under every rock and stone. The crazy thing is there are guys like Brad Miller waiting for a shot at the big leagues

Miller is better than any big man on the Knicks. It's crazy that he went undrafted. Ben Wallace went undrafted too, right?

We need to grab one of those undrafted big men. Um, ... Faith Solak anyone? Haha.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

we have a much greater chance of landing the #1 pick then actually finding a diamond in the rough in the NBDL, especially a big man. How are the Nets NBDL bigmen comming along? 98% of them are stiffs like Leon Smith.

it really comes down to work ethic. Brad Miller isnt an explosive athlete, and he wasnt this skilled early in his career. When he was with the Bulls he was a tough guy banger and practically a throw in for Rose w/ Artest. With the Pacers he was a legit center in the league, but you can see he really continued to work on his game is now one of the truely skilled bigmen in the NBA.

he was pretty good with the bulls. I wanted to him to become a knick then. I was mad we didnt even try. I also wanted todd mccoulugh. He was pretty big and didnt act scared of Shaq in the finals. Now he is gone probably forever.

Miller was already excellent for Chicago. It was one big stupid-ass trade for them.

As far as Indiana, they weren't allowed by the owners to spend big over the cap so they had to let him go rather than re-sign him. They couldn't get a good deal for him because he was about to become a free agent. Picture that team pre-suspensions with Brad Miller on it.
