I think the Knicks need a in your face coach, it would improve their focus and intensity. They need a coach like Dave Debuscher or Oakley, someone who won't be "nice" to the knicks and only point out the postitve. They would also teach teamwork and sticking up for your teamates. Someone like Dave would improve our defense, because he was a defensive player, something the Knicks do not have.

I don't know if I should embrace Herb just yet. My choice as coach was Agwire but for whatever reason Isiah chose to hire Herb instead.. He probably is a hard nose type of coach, but how can he impose his philosophy when he has only been coaching for less than 10 games

just because Oakley was a tough player doesn't mean he knows jack about coaching...i am fine w/Herb for now until this team gets some more talent...then i'd really like to see Isiah take a stab at coaching this team...no more interim coaches...we need a real authority figure to get into these guy's heads...if they don't listen to the man who is in control of their futures here in NY, who WILL they listen to? i think Phil & Riley are pipe dreams personally, & Larry Brown pretty much shot down the rumors that he'd coach here next year...i don't see many other viable options that will have any more effect on these guys than Isiah right now.

how does yelling equate to being a good coach?

And unless you have attended every game and a lot of practices, you have no idea how intense any of the NY coach are or have been.

What are the commonalities between Larry Brown, Phil Jackson, Rudy T, G Pop?

Herb is not the right coach. He is the same as Lenny. He still has KT in the lineup and that to me is a sign of a bad coach. Because he has already accepted losing by having KT in the lineup.

Doc Rivers was the right coach for the job, but Isiah screwed that one up....

Hopefully he can make some moves in the offseason and make this a team with some promise

Herb is good for the season but unless he can show that the team will play hard for him consistently it should end at this season.I want to see a coach that will get through to Crawford and help him with his poor decision making, can help Marbury make his teamates better if thats posssible at this stage in his career.

The one name Id like to see added to the list is Flip Saunders. Not as big a name as Jackson or Brown but he is an elite coach and the Wolves look like they have gone as far as they will go without a big upgrade.Im not sure about the status of his contract though..

If we are going to rebuild.which i agree we should.then why not hire Mark Jackson as head coach and Starks,Patrick and Oakley as his assistants. old school teaches new school.

could it be that playing good teams has killed their confidence? I will not be surprised at all if we start beating teams in the East again but what good will it do? Phil Jackson can't put this current team over .500

So stop blaming the coach. I'm sure Herb has done a lot of yelling already. I thought Lenny was a major factor why we were underachieving but i was dead wrong. I know his substitions and crutch time management was terrible but we were wrong for saying that he can't motivate players. No one can motivate this group. Lenny led a vince carter-less team to the playoffs.
