My brother just called me and said he was watching NBA Nation on espn2 and Greg Anthony called us the worst team in the league. We are an embarassment and the laughing stock of the NBA

in the real business world, if you hired a new CEO and he came in with a business plan of reving up operations by increasing short term payroll by 25% and long term expenses by 275mm, the bottom line is results are demanded immediately. we didn't take a step back and reconfigure the business, we shoved TREMENDOUS amounts of money on top of what was already spent. In the real world, EVERYBODY would be canned with what we have been seeing, because the honest truth, the honest reality is that we are actually much worse off.

Our competitor, the Nets, have spent half the money we half spent, have had much worse blemishes to disrupt operations, and yet, have apparently conjured up the guts to right the ship even under the horrid conditions that they have been put under.

Vince Carter and Jason Kidd are both twice the player Marbury will ever be. As is Jefferson. They essentially traded Kmart for Carter and a number one pick, which is a great trade. The Nets have far more pieces than the Knicks at this point. Brooklyn Nets can't come soon enough.

smartest thing greg anthony said all year..

Briggs: this isn't the real world, in the real world, mediocre talent would not continue to be paid huge amounts of money for little production...

This is the NBA..

Awesome post. Everyone praising Thomas and talking about what an amazing intelligent savior he is gets tiring after a while.

That the Knicks are atrocious is even more evident when you look at all our opponents going off for season/career highs against us. I don't think there has been a single game where someone from the other team has had a season-best performance. For example, look at Carmelo tongiht - I think it's the first time he shot over .500 all year... and K-Mart? Game of the season for him

I've had the pleasure to endure 6 rock bottom seasons of the Vancouver Grizzlies, and I swear, I've seen those guys play harder than these Knicks

I CANT BELIEVE I AM ACTUALLY HEARING PEOPLE IN HERE SAY THEY WANT THE BROOKLYN NETS TO COME SO THEY CAN CHANGE TEAMS AND BE A NETS FAN. I DONT CARE WHATS HAPPENING TO THE KNICKS RIGHT NOW, I WILL NEVER CHANGE TO A DIFFERENT TEAM EVEN IF THEY BRING A NEW BASKETBALL TEAM TO NEW YORK. TRUE NEW YORKERS WILL ALWAYS BE KNICKS FANS. GOD ITS SO FRUSTRATING TO LISTEN TO EVERYONE TALK SMACK. SOMETIMES I WONDER IF ANY OF YOU ARE ACTUALLY KNICKS FANS.

This team will have hard time beating teams like Hawks, expanion-team Bobcats, Bucks, Hornets, and Warriors.

This is the worst Knick team in quite a long time. Worse than the last yr's team that featured: one-legged McDyess & Houston, Van Horn, Ward, Doleac, Othella, Eisley, Shandon, Weatherspoon, Lampe, Deke, etc. Isiah managed to create this yr's horrific team after "increasing short term payroll by 25% and long term expenses by 275mm."

He should be named the worst GM of the year hands down. What we should be calling for is not a new head coach, but a better GM with REAL business/BB senses with honorable character (and a new owner).

If we're the worst team, we'll finish with the worst record and get the #1 pick in the draft (or we'll have the most ping pong balls). I can't imagine that happening, though.

Gosh, I feel like one of my friends just got hit by a train

I feel the same way....remember the play where Marbs was the only one back and they made like 3 passes where Marbs was spinning around like a Tard then he ducks out the way of a vicious K-Mart dunk.

This team isn't that good.....even if Timmy played well and there wasn't all these injuries the Knicks still would only be a slightly above average team.

The roof caved in......it's so crazy how that happened. In December we all were comfortable and talking about a trade to upgrade........now I don't even know if upgrading is an option.....

Sactown and Pheonix are next........Geez louis rice and peas buck naked with Alysha Keys!

Where Brooklyn at?

For Greg Anthony to say the Knicks are the worst team is saying something because he has always stuck up for the Knicks against Steven A. Smith, Barkley, Vecey, Kerr, whoever.....

I bleed orange and blue.....It's just overwhelming. Layden Screwed the Knicks a new arse hole. He should have let Ewing walk after the season rather than trade him for Rice.....then shandon and Eisley, signing Ward to all that money.....Clarence Weatherspoon, Trading Donell Harvey for Erick Strickland and then for Othella Harrington....and the killer Houston contract. This has all been devestating.

Isiah tried to change it and he has set the course a little better but.....geez.

I'm from Brooklyn.....born and raised. A new team would stop the bleeding some.....I doubt it would be a full transfusion though.

We just need to change the PF and the Center position....Bring in some new blood at an affordable price and grow from within. We can draft wisely and within the next couple of years we will be in contention....but before that, get rid of Kurt, buy out Houston and that enough will free our team from the painful misery that we are in right now...Is it easy? no, but it can be done....Houston is old and is getting older. We can't afford to keep on hoping that he will be better for the money that he is making....Let's live with the errors commited by Layden and correct them. Do a drastic change, bring in capable guys that are affordable and hungry. No name players, not guys who think that they are stars. We already have Marburry and Crawf for now and a couple of young pieces. we need cheap role players and soon or later, we will find the studd Center that we are looking for....

To change it around one must feel the pain. We were well on our way when isiah was bought it. This is long past Layden and Ewing now. 4 years past!

On paper Isiah had a nice plan, but those talented underadhievers when hurded together imploded! He thought he could bring them together and lay some nice postitive tony robbins guru stuff on them.

As for brooklyn and the nets, you know I feel for for Knick fans. WE deserve an honest effort and lets face it, the NEts moving to brooklyn is a bold move and Thorn and company are working to EARN our business. The Knicks take us for granted. They better not continue otherwise they gonna lose big time!
