I don't know, maybe because he's a better player, leader, team doesn't hate or fear him, team may grow and eventually go to war for him, and there is no one on the team I'd rather have with the ball for a last second shot with the game on the line.

Marbury is displaying no leadership skills and awful body language during this streak.

Does anyone else think the team might be turning on him? Kurt seems ready to fight him, Nazr isn't putting up the numbers he was a month ago, Penny left the team for a month, etc, etc... and of course, the most damning thing, what's their record since Marbury proclaimed himself the best PG in the league? 2-14. That's pathetic. That's like New Orleans Hornets going through a slump level bad. As Greg Anthony says, we are the worst team in the league right now. It hurts most of all that we have to admit that the fools at ESPN may have been right about Marbury all along.

Truth be told, my friends and I first noticed it in the 4th quarter at MSG against the Timberwolves. Steph was having an absolutely dominant game, but the body language of the rest of the guys on the floor for the Knicks was like, "what a jerk, what am I even doing out here?" Contrast that with the way the New Jersey Nets rally around the great play of Vince Carter and Jason Kidd and you see the difference between leaders and players who have a world of talent and not much else.

What good will that do to this team? Please explain.

Funny...watching the Denver game I was thinking the same thing about the captains. Not just Steph, but Kurt as well. No one on the team was demonstrating and leadership at all. Things have gotten so bad even JYD looks like he is doggin it out there. The TT infecting is spreading!!!

yup...even Sweetney was totally meager out there, not his usual hustling self...he let KMart have wide open lanes to the hole & just plain got out of his way when he went up for those monster dunks...even John Andariese was completely disgusted at the lack of heart the Knicks were displaying on the court...not even 1 guy knocked to the floor to send a message...some "enforcer" KT is.
