The knicks losing is the best thing to happen for the future of the franchise. If we win a few games here and there we would be a lower seed in the playoffs and get knocked out early.

I'd rather not make the playoffs and build a team that can contend for a championship, not a playoff spot so dick-head dolan can make
post-season money.

Build through the draft and trading vets for youth.
My focus would be make sure there is cap space by the time Lebron James is a free agent. It can be done, but are the Knicks patient enough to that.

People will come to watch a young and exciting team that may not win every game, but gives hope for the future. I know I would.

Even if we have Lebron I feel we still need to draft a championship calibur center if we're gonna win a championship.

Funny, I can't ever recall seeing one player win a team sport championship all by himself. LeBron is great, but he isn't god. To get under the cap by the time LeBron is a FA, would mean we'd have to be signing a lot of CBA talents.

TLover, i agree w/you to a certain extent. it would be nice to build through the draft, and have a young core. on the same note, you have to be realistic about things in terms of where you think lebron will go. bare in mind that he IS from ohio, he played all his highschool ball there, all his friends and family are there, and most of all the cavs own his bird rights. if he really is worthy of "lebron" money, what makes you think the cavs won't match ANY offer?

also, not to say that he's as good as bron, but i honestly think ariza has similar potential. he has the athletisism, can handle the ball, takes it to the hole w/tenacity regardless of who is under the basket, and is a smart player. he may not get alot of calls, but he is a 19yr old rook and we all know how that goes. only real diference is lebron has matured alot faster. phisically and mentaly.

the only other big contract that we need to focus on should be a center, or shotblocking pf. preferably a center.(for obvious reasons)

so, is it just me, or has any one else mentally tanked this season?
