well i said last year after the playoffs that he isnt untradeable. So if the right deal presents itself then zeke should pursue it. He's still not the biggest problem. Brand and Kaman prove to us what our true problem is tonight.

Marbury is not in the same league as a Paul Pierce, Allen Iverson, Baron Davis, Dwayne Wade, Vince Carter, in terms of willing their teams to victory

No, in fact, he is in the same league as a Jamaal Tinsley, Caron Butler, Ruben Patterson, Desmond Mason, in terms of effort on the court
David f'n Lee for President!!

I'll add Steve Francis to the above list..

Marbury actually had one of his best games in a while today, and his numbers weren't even up to par of what we expect of him

I don't really get that list. He's proven he can win with good players, the Knicks don't have good players.

Let the Knicks continue to struggle, Isiah should make proactive moves and think for the future. Marbury is the centerpiece of the team, whether you like it or not. He's Isiah's pet project, so he isn't going anywhere. Let the team stink, get a big man in the draft, let TT and Penny expire, and let Marbury lead this team.

Not a lot of guards could win with this team, it's too poor defensively and up front.

He is certainly not an untouchable in my eyes. But I think he is an untouchable in Isiah's eyes. I think Isiah will live or die with Marbury. It looks more and more like the latter will be the case. We have no frontcourt, and frontcourt contributors are virtually untradeable in today's NBA without extreme talent going in return.

I don't think it is as straight-forward as it is framed above. Marbury is untradable this year and next - you have to give him and Isiah a window of opportunity to show their stuff. Marbury DOES put fans in the seats, so I would submit that he is more untradable from Dolan's perspective than Isiah's. If there is a trade to move Marb for the right pieces, it will get done.

i don't doubt Dolan would be willing to trade Marbury, but i don't see Isiah ever doing it...i feel it will take a different GM to come in here for Marbury to be traded...just my gut feeling.

I just want to see Marbury with a little more talent around him, especially up front. I mean we are practically right where we were a couple years ago w/ Houston and Spree leading us to 32 wins with Harrington and KT up front. The difference is Marbury and Craw are 24/27.

I want to see Marbury play with a frontcourt player of his own caliber, not these donkeys we have. Then evaluate from there. Marbury can play... no ifs or butts about it.

Bottom line is we dont have a frontcourt player that forces the opposition to make adjustments on either side of the ball. Marbury and Crawford can force other teams to make adjustments. KT/Nazr simply dont.

Is the answer Zach? Sounds like a bad fit to me. Is it tanking for Bogut? Sounds like a long shot on a talented player we probably have no shot at. SAR? Maybe. Walker? Webber? No thanks.

My guess is our best bet is to overpay for depth, and focus on long athletic guys that can effect the game that way, like Swift and Hunter.

exactly the roster has changed but Kurt remains the constant problem and reason we stink. Kurt is still playing close to 40mins a game! That is why this teams record isn't much different and maybe at full strength a .500 team at best.

I think you'll find that if we just get rid of KT, we'll suck just as much, if not more.

no because Sweetney, JYD and Baker would play more. JYD would come in the game against quicker PFs and Baker against slower ones. The PF position will be set. We still need a real center. Bogut, Swift, Kwame whatever until then we will still suck

Well, getting rid of Kurt would help us get closer to Bogut, if that is what you're after...

lets see... seeing as how KT is playing the best ball of his career, putting up solid numbers and we still sucks what does that tell you?

would playing Sweetney or JYD = more wins? Maybe, maybe not. But I would rather lose with a 22 year old and see what kind of upside he has than lose with a 34 year old who's best days are behind him.

good point. we may be worse but it'll help our lottery situation and the center position and most importantly give Sweetney the chance to cement the PF position for years to come if we can't get Brand.
